Reviews For Life as Dictated by a Talking Hat
Absolutely beautiful and I am very much looking forward the rest. 'his child'... absolutely heartwrenching.
are you continuing this? Author's Response: LOL yes of course. Today, actually.
Author's Response: Hmm...not that I can immediately think of. You could check out my favorites list, but a lot of those were left unfinished.
man, i thought this was a completed story, and then got to this cliffhanger after staying up half the night trying to finish... please keep up the good work and update soon! THANK YOU! Author's Response: Yey, glad you like!! And I'm updating TODAY, so yey!!
Author's Response: Yes, of course I'm going to finish it! It was not a one-chapter-and-then-I-abandon this, I promise.
And I loved how Severus realized the abuse and how it has made him re-think everything. Poppy is brilliant here. I loved how she reacted and has won Harry's trust. Well, maybe not trust exactly. I have a feeling that it's not easy to win Harry's trust, but she seems well on the way. Loved how powerful Harry is and how he kept Poppy from being harmed. He really is a good kid. And then when Severus realized that he wanted the same kind of relationship with Harry, but had done everything in his power to ensure that they got off to a bad start...well, that's wonderful too. I'm so excited about this story!
I love your Harry. He's strong and has pride. He's very clever and determined, but he's so hurt and needy (though he would probably be furious with me for saying so; he's so determined to hide it). I like that he's open-minded about the houses, and that you're having the other first-years be reasonable about it too (so far...I hope that continues). It's so easy to have Ron become a total prat in a Slytherin Harry tale, so I love that he was more mature and willing here. I'm also really liking Theo and Blaise, and it'll be interesting to see how Draco turns out. The final scene with Severus and Albus was really wonderful. No one can pull a guilt trip like Dumbledore, lol. But Severus needed to hear it...he does have an obligation to Harry, and he is the adult. He needs to act like one and not take his old grudge out on a child. Looking forward to more!
I'm not sure why I haven't been reading your story. Was there a corporal punishment warning before? It seems like I thought there was anyway, so that might be why. I rarely read cp stories. But I'm so glad I've begun it. This is a wonderful beginning. Harry is still vulnerable, but he knows how to hide it. And he's strong too...it's not easy to portray that combination. His thoughts and emotions are clever, with that brittle facade trying to hide his fear and pain underneath. The other Slytherins seem interesting, and Severus is spot-on, intimidating and aloof, but hopefully with a good core. I can't wait to see where you're going to take us!
Author's Response: LOL, glad you like. The next chapter is coming out today.
Author's Response: :0) Today. Promise. |
