    Hi,
I am greatly enjoying this fic and am delighted to find a nice long fic that promises to be such an entertaining read.
BTW Harry's previous address was 4 Privit Drive, NOT 4 Private Drive. Privit is not a miss-spelling of Private, it is a genus of shrubs, one variety of which is often used as a hedge.
Also, here: Surely it can't just be the principal of the thing – I know you've obeyed professors in the past.” Principal should be principle, they are not the same thing.

Author's Response: Yey, glad you like! And thanks for the corrections! I'm a dumb butt. Will fix. Rhiannan

Well, I think I am done with this story. While you seem to think that hitting a child is wrong, aparently is is fine to work them to the bone. Lets see, Harry was cleaning Snape's office for 3 hours(at 5:15 in the morning no less when he didn't get out of detention until 10:00. that is less than seven hours of sleep and for a CHILD), then three hours doing more hard manual labor, then another three hours doing lines. That is a total of 9 hours of work in one day, 6 of it being hard physical work. Except for hitting him (which Snape has already promised as a punishment for disobeying one of his rules), Snape is EXACTLY like the Dursleys. Tell me how in the WORLD Snape's punishments can't be considered abusive. The fact that he gave him a salve to relieve the injuries he CAUSED certainly doesn't redeem his atrocious behavior. I really hope you don't have kids if you think that treating them this abusively is perfectly correct behavior.

Author's Response: I apologize for not having done the calculations, as that does seem harsh, but I would also point out that this is SNAPE we're dealing with. Since when is the Snape of canon a totally nice and reasonable guy? Part of the story is him learning, too. If you read on, you would know that Snape changes his mind on a lot of things as he gets to know Harry better. And there's no need to be nasty. This is a fic. My mistakes in writing hardly make me a bad parent.

Well, Snape and Madame Pomphrey certainly are terrible at dealing with abused children. Shouldn't they know that what an abused child wants most of all is the control that they have never had. By physically assaulting him to force him to take a potion, they have destroyed any chance of exerting an influence over the situation. Better would be to talk to him find out more about why he doesn't want to take the potion, negotiate an agreement. I don't think they could have handled it worse than they did, by using their size advantage to force their will on him. After all, Isn't that essentially what Harry's uncle has always done. In a REALISTIC story, this incident would substantially decrease Harry's trust of BOTH Snape and Madame Pomphrey because they were both a party to it.

Author's Response: Perhaps it was a mistake on their part, but I would also point out that this is the way things go in hospitals all the time. Harry needed meds, and he needed them then. I'd also point out that they did try to talk.

I do so love a protective Snape... nothing better for one of those warm little giggles of sheer giddiness... skittish Harry and protective Snape; better than lemon drops ^-^
Loved Psycho and McGonagall's stand off ^-^
Wonder how Harry will react to Snape's 'betrayal'... but then Snape's just too cute in his protectiveness, who could stay mad with him ^-^
Have fun and thx for the awesome (and always huge) updates, better than hot chocolate on a wintry day (*sigh*... I miss wintry days... bloody summer TT)

Author's Response: :0) Heee. Glad you like. I like it when Snape gets all protective, too. Makes me happy. :0) I'm glad you liked the two cats, too. I thought of that and just couldn't resist, and you know Psycho wasn't gonna do the smart thing and behave herself. And what are you on about, wintery days?? We just got a foot of snow in New Jersey! I HATE snow!!

I really like how you've been portraying Blaise. And I can definitely see him growing up and getting into the spy (or private investigations) business. Man, Snape pulls no punches does he? So the question is, if Voldy-wart was in Quirrell's head where did he go after Sev AKed him?

    Bravo for an excellent chapter.

Author's Response: Yey! Glad you like!! And no, Snape doesn't mess around. Lol. And I would imagine Voldy went wherever he did in canon...which was never properly explained, in my opinion. LOL I'll cross that bridge when (if) I come to it. :0) Thanks for the review!
