Reviews For Life as Dictated by a Talking Hat
Author's Response: :0) Glad you like. I dunno, about Ron. He reacted the way he did the when he was 11 because it was Malfoy who attacked first, and the prejudice grew as he got older. I dunno if his prejudices as an 11-year-old would have held up had a friend shown him a different opinion. And the Slytherins in canon DON'T talk all that much about family and blood - Malfoy does, but that's about it. That's mostly fanon, not canon. Perhaps I could have shown it a little more, but anyway, this is my first story - I think I get a stronger grasp on things as I go on. (LOL and here I go pulling a JKR and trying to overexplain everything after the fact. Woops)
Author's Response: I admit, this story is a BIT AU on the Slytherins, but then I just don't think you can categorize 11 year olds that easily into 4 groups and have the groups really look all that different. Maybe the older years, but not the first years. Whatever. Hope you read on and enjoy the rest of the story.
Hope for more soon, although I have to say that the rate you've been updating lately has been awesome *hands you muffin* thank you for your fast, long chapters ^-^ have fun and hope you have a good 2010 ^^ x Author's Response: Thanks!! Glad you liked the chapter, and thanks for the muffin!! I decree that it is chocolate-chip, by the way. :0) Yeah, poor Harry. He's improving, but it ain't easy.
Author's Response: Yey! Thanks!
The conversation between Harry and Snape at the end here was lovely, just right; you can see Snape's making progress, but Harry's still wary. Perfect. Can't wait for Christmas! Is Harry going to make Snape a present? I hope so! Author's Response: Yey!! Glad you like!! I'm looking forward to Christmas, too. I have LOTS planned. :0)
i cant wait to see what happens next!!! hope you update soon. Author's Response: Yey!! Glad you like!!! :0) Rhiannan
This was always my biggest gripe with Albus, Minerva and especially Poppy. Having worked for a school system for 21 years now, I know that ALL school nurses are trained on spoting signs of neglect and abuse. Plus, teachers and principals go to classes on it as well. Goodness gracious, we were having a hat/mitten/scarf drive in our office and had several busdrivers come in asking for stuff for the kids before the drive was even over. Caring adults notice these things. It's not as though Harry stayed in the background trying to be a wallflower and coasted through classes never drawing attention to himself! Oops, sorry. *blushes* Went off on a bit of a tirade there didn't I? *steps down off soapbox* I really did like this chapter though. Quite a bit so, in fact. Author's Response: LOL I don't mind your tirade at all, actually. You're absolutely right. And I'm very glad you liked the chapter. :0) Thanks for the nice long review!! (even if it was a rant. I have gone off on this same rant myself about Harry Potter. :0) ) Rhiannan
Author's Response: Yey!! Glad you liked!! And happy new year to you, to!
Please update sooner this time, if you can manage it; I know how writer's block goes, but just hang in there! :) Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I can't promise that Harry won't backslide a little - he dictates his moods to me, I just write them. It's frustrating, but I think it's more realistic that way. This sort of thing is frustrating to deal with, and I refuse to do it the disrespect of writing it too easy. That said, I think we are finally making some real progress. The next update should be out in roughly 2 weeks, and Outcast's Alley should update in a week or so. Thanks again for the review! Glad you liked! :0)
Author's Response: Yeah, this wasn't an easy chapter for either of them, I think. (Or for me!) But hopefully it's good progress. Anyway, thanks for the review!! And happy new year!! Rhiannan |
