I really like your portrayal of Severus in this chapter, especially during his meeting with Albus. =)

I think I'm enjoying the talks between Sev and Dumbledore as much as Dumbledore seems to-- they are wonderfully full of dry humor and debate. And the parallel between their relationship and Sev and Harry's-- which Dumbledore is quite aware of and Sev seems not to be-- is delightful. The section with Harry is also quite good, but because of his problems, his progress is slow and frustrating at times (realistic, yes... but often not fun).
Author's Response: Yeah, slow. It'll happen. One thing to point out is that this is still before canon Halloween - Harry has known Sev for less than two months. Thanks for reviewing! :-)
I never thought that I would feel sorry for Snape, but I do. Harry is really not softening up at all towards him, is he? Or if he is, it is very slowly.
I really wish that he would see that Snape is trying to help him. He is so darned stubborn.
I'm glad to see that you've updated.
It is horrible what Snape has done to Flint. I'm glad the kid is gone though, I just wish that there had been another way. Two wrongs don't make a right.
As usual, your writing is superb and this story remains exciting and intriguing. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Totally worth the wait! I love how you manaage to express Severus' confusion over Harry, and still keep him in character.

That was brilliant!! I absolutely LOVE the parallel between Snape and Harry, Dumbledore and Snape. I had never even thought of it before now, though why I don't know. Thanks for wonderfully long chapter.
