    You killed Umbridge...my hero!!! Beautiful confrontation, and McGonagall's reaction was priceless! But Ron! I hope they make up soon, it's so sad when they fight. Next chapter sounds interesting, I'd love to see your take on learning Occlumency.

    Whoooooo!!!!! Hooray! The wicked witch is dead!! Although, I am a little disturbed at how easily Harry and Severus and Minerva are okay with that. Harry did just unintentionally help kill someone.

    I loved how Severus called Freedom back to him and told him to transform back into Harry. :) And how Harry is now his new Potions Apprentice!! Awesome. I have a feeling that Harry shouldn't be transforming though unless a teacher tells him he can, just in case he has another accident.

    Great chapter and I am so glad that you updated and that Umbridge is gone for good!! I wonder if any of the other students watched it happen though.

    Well, nobody knew the bird would come out of the forest, it was a chance happening, but considering how terrible Umbridge was, I don't think they'd feel too bad about her death.  They did try and arrest her and would have succeeded if not for the bird. 

    No, he shouldn't, and Minerva will tell him so next chapter. 

    As for anyone else seeing it, that too will be addressed next time! Thanks for your awesome reviews! :)

    Woot. Much wonderfulness. I LOVE how Harry set the birds after Umbrage, though it bothers me a bit that they killed her, for some reason. W/e. Funfunfunfunfunfunfun

    Author's Response: Well, they didn;t set out to kill her--the Stymphalian Bird just appeared and it was a surprise to everyone there.  Harry only wanted the owls to harass her, he never expected the monster bird to come and make a meal of her.  But such is life.

    It would be hard to imagine a fate too horrible for Umbridge-- and her avian punishment fits into the story nicely. It was nice to see Sev and Minvera working together intelligently to solve a problem for Harry. Cannon seems to insist that adults are untrustworthy, unavailable, and somewhat oblivious to the children's needs. Fanfiction often takes a hard line against that, insisting that some adults are responsible and willing to protect children. Since Harry seems to be somewhat abused (it's less severe in cannon than fannon), I think a lot of readers object to the cannon message that kids need to struggle on their own because no adult will protect them. It's a dangerous message to give abused kids. That's one of the reasons this type of fic seems so moving-- because Harry shouldn't have to fix everything and suffer silently.
    I like the complication with Ron and I can't wait to see Sev and Harry try to relate as two people (rather than just wizard and familiar).

    Author's Response: Yes, I agree.  Umbridge was soo awful . . . as bad as Moldy Voldy in her way.  I agree with the canon message, since it seems that JKR wanted to have a self-suffiecine tboy hero who can solve things that most adults would have trouble dealing with.  It's sad, really, since every child should have one adult he can count on.  That's why I made it so that Severus is there for Harry and to a lesser extent so are McGonagall and Hagrid.  Because you're right, no child should be expected to save the world and suffer in silence.  I believe that one of the main components of a hero is that you can rely on others to help you and cooperation is more important to solve problems that bravery and those solo Charge of the Valkyries.  But that's me.  Thank you for reading!

    *Falls over, gigling madly* hee...you actually let the birds eat her!! How sadisticly wonderfull! I abosolutely loooved this chapter! Not only did we get rid of Umbridge, but now Harry and Sev get to spend more time together!....     Wonderful!! I was afraid that even if she was arrested she (or with Fudge's help) would get away with what she had done. And how perfect that her biggest fear came true.

    Good job with Ron's attitude and reactions. He always reacts first and then thinks later. Sometimes much, much later.

    Snape's apprentice, eh? Well done. He'll get some remedial help he should have gotten in first year, someone to look over his homework assignments, a reason for being with Snape as much as he not-so-secretly wants, and more importantly has an adult he can talk to and rely on. Well done, indeed.
