    I'm surprised and happy to see such a quick update. This is a warm and fuzzy chapter and it's rewarding to see Snape as an adult taking care of a child in trouble. It's the sort of chapter that makes me want to reread the whole thing again just to experience it more fully in context.

    Thank goodness something is to be done about the cuff. I suppose it's Umbridge's hubris that she would do something so incriminating; as a bureaucrat, I always imagine her twisting the law rather than just breaking it.

    Severus does have his moments, especially once he feels secure enough to express his feelings.  He really does care about Harry.  I'm honored you would re-read my fic even though it's not done yet. 

    Umbridge has a lot of hubris, she has gone mad with power and that is why she dared to put the cuff on Harry.

    That was good; I'm not fooled though, I think Severus and Harry are going to have a lot more problems and misunderstandings between each other before things are really resolved. They've got years of angst between them and I think they will probably need to discuss Lily in more depth at some point.

    Anyway, I like how Severus realized that Harry was really more like himself than anyone else and held Harry when he really needed it. Oh, and the cuff! I'm so glad Severus discovered it! Thank goodness it didn't get any worse! They'll figure this thing out yet...now, if only they could get rid of Umbridge.

    That's true, they will have some more issues to work out and Lily will be a big part of those issues, as will Sirius.

    Severus seeing Harry like himself at that age was a key breakthrough in his change of heart towards Harry, because only then did he see how hurt the boy was and how he needed a reliable adult to help him. The cuff will be gotten rid of . . . as will the toad! Read the next chapter and see!

    Yes, she is very secure in her belief that she did what she felt was right and doesn't care about anyone finding out because she holds all the cards . . .or so she thinks!

    I knew it! Umbridge is horrible. Snape should be careful, though (he should have taken evidence before he healed Harry...). Mila

    And Snape has enough evidence with the cuff to put her away, plus Harry as a witness and well, that'll all be explained next chapter, which I just posted.

    Awww, what an amazing release! I am so glad that they finally talked, and that Severus is there for Harry and that Harry forgives him!! Wonderful. Truly wonderful. I can't wait to see how Snape will help Harry, and for Umbridge to answer for using dark magic on Harry. Gah.

    I think that if someone were to hand Harry the books for his assignments, with the pages marked that he would be able to get them done quicker. I think that Harry should start copying the assignments that don't matter. If he doesn't need an OWL in History of Magic to get into the Auror program, he might as well do a half attempt of the assignment just to get it done.

    Yes, that was a long time coming for both of them and they really shall do well with each other.  Umbridge will pay!! Oh I had such fun writing that part!

    That's a good idea about Harry's make up work, Sev will have some advice for him next chapter about it and also a suggestion for a different career path.

    WOw. What a standoff! Poor Harry, I suppose that he will learn his lesson about that particular draft. I am glad that he was caught before he got addicted and used to taking it all of the time, but apparently he did not escape the after effects. What a mess! Hooray for Snape knowing where to find him! Great chapter and great story development! I am enjoying it greatly! Thank you for sharing it with us!

    Author's Response: yes, he will.  It was good that Severus figured it out and found him in time, and now they can have a talk and hopefully resolve some things!

    So beautiful! I teared up T_T I can't wait to see how this confrontation with Umbridge goes. Will McGonnagal be involved? I'd love to see her teaming with Snape to defend Harry!
