Reviews For Broken Wings
Poor Freedom. He's getting a third-person-view of his former life as Harry, and being forced to acknowledge some things he'd never considered about himself before. Heh--I have a feeling it's going to take some doing to get him to want to go back to being human-Harry! I can't wait to read what he learns from Ron, Hermione and Hagrid! (Not to mention Dumbledore's nastiness!) Author's Response: I hear you! As a former educator myself, I KNOW how fast those kids can push buttons. That's why I've always sympathized with Severus . . .anyone who's taught kids of any age . . .or dealt with the public in retail (like me) knows there are days when you just want to strangle someone or beat your head in against a wall! Yes, he is, and it's not at all like he imagined it would be. It will, especially since some of his former life was so terrible and he doesn' t know if he could bear going back to it and if anyone will protect him this time around. he'll be learning a few unexpected things and Dumbledore will be dealt with in two chapter, I haven't forgotten about him! A reckoning is coming.
Thanks so much for the updates! Author's Response: He really is a mess, between the Dursleys abuse and what he recalls of Severus being nasty to him and also some things he did that were irresponsible too. There's a lot of guilt and resentment there and Severus isn't going to take it well when he finds out. But the struggle between them makes for a good story, and when and if they do reconcile, they will be that much stronger for it. Thanks!
Author's Response: yes, that was a fun release for him! Thanks!
I fear Severus' temper when he finds out about Freedom, and/or the repercussions from what he might say in anger. My poor abused boys. *huggles* Author's Response: I know, my poor Freedom! And poor Sev too! That is one confrontation that will not be pleasant.
And poor Severus, too. His life has been hard as well, and it's going to be hard for him too, when the truth about his familiar does come out...though it might not happen for a while. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Author's Response: Yes, it's also confusing because some of the memories he's getting back are in bits and pieces, especially in regards to things that happened at school. And he hasn't yet remembered when he transformed into a hawk, so that makes it even more difficult. Plus, some of the memories are so awful, and frightening, that he doesn't want to remember them. He also fears losing Severus, who has been kind to him as a hawk, and protective. Sev has indeed had a hard life, as bad as Harry's in it's way, and it's going to hurt him when he first finds out that the familiar he bared his heart and soul to is the one person he would never trust to keep a secret about himself. It won't happen for awhile yet, though. But when it does . . .
Author's Response: Yes, that explosion is on the horizon. It'll stay there for awhile though . . .you'll see why. Curious about whether or not there will be a relationship in Sev & Harry's future, right? Thanks, Mila!
Author's Response: That was the highlight of the night, although don't discount the prophecy, it's important too! Umbridge has ALWAYS been trouble and yes, she will now be searching for a reason to make their lives miserable and maybe even do away with Freedom! Thank you.
Wonderful chapter. V. Author's Response: He is and that's the real question . . .what will he do then? It's a tough decision and Harry has to weigh out his options and come to terms that the Snape he knew might not be the true Snape at all, and there is more to his professor than meets the eye. Thanks again for reviewing!
Author's Response: Thank you! I'll try and post soon!
And when Freedom came back to Severus, that was just beautiful! Author's Response: Thank you! I love birds of prey, especially hawks. Actually I love all animals, and usually have at least one in a story. That was my favorite part, making Severus happy and restoring his faith in the bond they shared. He really needs that. |
