Reviews For Broken Wings
Author's Response: Good question and I guess it's because most people don't look at animals a source of healing for people. It's a shame, because I've worked with therapy dogs and there's nothing quite like petting a dog or holding a purring cat to make you feel better. I loved it when my cat curled up on my feet when I was sick and kept them warm, or when my dog used to come and sit next to me and put his head in my lap. But Poppy will remember this and fetch Hedwig should Harry get injured or sick again. Thanks for reading.
As for the hawk, I like how Harry tried to protect Severus from Poppy. It was nice to see such loyalty from the familiar. I'm excited that he'll get to fly soon too, though I'm fairly certain he'll come back after his demonstration in this chapter. -P.G. Author's Response: I've always thought so too, he doesn't really seem to judge people and the only person he really dislikes (and who wouldn't?) is Voldemort. hawks are very loyal to their falconers or their wizards, in this case. Freedom's flight has been posted.
Author's Response: Thanks! Hope you like what's next!
A-hem. ::coughs to clear throat:: Where was I...? Oh, yeah--next review. ::grumbles:: Ya got me too excited there! Do you know, I've never reviewed so many chapters of a single story before? I like Poppy! I can just imagine how she must have let Dumbledore have it when she informed him of Snape's condition. Heh--I'd bet Fawkes bailed on him and went to hide out with the owls! The gargoyles guarding his office probably scramming along with the bird. ::snicker:: I liked the affirmation of Snape's bonds with Hagrid, Poppy, and Trixie--and Poppy's assessment of Dumbledore. I get the feeling that Snape's next summons might be a trigger for Harry to get his memories or/and human form back. ::winces:: That, or if he's flying again, he manages to go *with* Snape. ::double wince:: Author's Response: Hmm . . .I take you want a sequel? *burst out laughing* Really? Wow! I'm honored. *blushes* Uh, yeah, Fawkes knows better than to stay under fire, LOL! And she was plenty angry, so I think she roasted Dumbledore, so to speak. Good for her, since evry so often he eneds the reminder. It could be . . .and that would be really bad for both of them. So glad you're enjoying this! Freedom is flying now, check it out!
-P.G. P.S. Just a small concern really, but you might want to consider rephrasing the following sentence: "He hadn't laughed that way since Lily had died." While I know what you intended, it sounds a bit like Sev laughed when Lily died, instead of before she died, while they were friends. Just a thought :). Author's Response: You're right, but that's how it goes sometimes. Harry has always placed the well being of others before himself and so is a little slow to notice all the memories he's been getting back. That will continue to happen over the course of the story, until he finally remembers everything. It's a gradual process. Poor Severus, Hagrid and Poppy should be able to help him. Thanks for noticing that, I have now fixed it, I knew there was something I missed. XD
Poor Sev, he really got banged up this time. Good thing he has some friends to help him, otherwise who knows what might have happened? I look forward to when Freedom flies, both he and Sev will be so happy. I'm sure he'd want to return to the potions master, but I do wonder when Harry will recall whom he is? Author's Response: He could have died or something. Yes, they bioth need the release of flying. Harry will start to regain more and more of his memories after the flight, as you'll see.
-P.G. Author's Response: Severus does know Muggle expressions, he just doesn't use them too often in his professor persona. I loved the part with his hair too!
Hagrid and Poppy are Squeeeee! worthy in this chapter! Author's Response: Yes, they are aren't they?
Author's Response: Thank you! Please keep reading!
Author's Response: Thanks! Hope you enjoy the next 2 I've posted. |
