Reviews For My Enemy's Enemy
Author's Response: Yes I think the fact that Harry was grieving was crucial to him not protesting at the move to Slytherin. He feels very vulnerable and wants to be able to continue to spend time with Snape (even if there is still a lot of mixed emotions in what he feels towards him at the moment). His grief would have also meant it was easier for Harry to get carried along by what Snape wanted him to do. However, if Harry was totally opposed to the idea he would have been more assertive in refusing it, and demanded to speak to Dumbledore, even if he was told he had no choice. Harry is more annoyed that Snape manipulated him than the fact he has ended up in Slytherin, although that may change depending how badly he and Snape fall out in the next chapter. Thanks a lot for reviewing:)
I like your writing style and the plot. The only problem at all that I find is that I wish for more detail about what the main characters are thinking and feeling. Harry was angry about Snape's gift of the broom, but I wasn't sure exactly what Snape thought. Was he hurt by Harry's reaction? Was he trying to apologize? And how come Harry just got angry in his dorm and then seems to have totally forgotten about the whole thing? But all in all, this is a good story. Please continue updating quickly. Thanks. Author's Response: Ah the broomstick saga won't end there, they will discuss it more in the next chapter, it's kind of simmering at the surface at the moment. Harry is really upset deep down about the whole thing but keeps being distracted by things which come up (Snape being injured, the strange spell) but he's going to bring it up eventually.(That and the fact that Snape lied to get him into Slytherin.) We'll find out more about what Snape was thinking in the next chapter, but I think it's safe to say that he is sorry although apologises don't come easily to him... Thanks for reviewing :)
Author's Response: Thank you! :)
I'm so looking forward to a confrontation between Harry and Malfoy, but I'm worried that Harry is going to be in big trouble with Snape. It seems as though he's already in trouble though, isn't he? Great chappie, can't wait for the next one. Author's Response: Hey Pandora, Yeah he's already in pretty deep trouble, he didn't really think about what the consequences of what he was trying to do to Malfoy... Snape is not a happy fella at the beginning of the next chapter, that's for sure. Hmm the Harry/Malfoy thing is gonna be fun to write I think... On one level it's not nearly as dangerous as what Harry's just tried to do to Malfoy but on the other it's more of an example of direct disobedience. Tempers will be running high for everyone concerned! Thanks for reviewing :)
Next to that, perhaps this sounds strange to you (as the one in control of the whole plotline :-), but after having Harry grieve so violently just a short while back, I expected some sort of lasting fallout (whether for better or worse)? You described his emotions so vividly. Yes Snape kept him occupied, but he also made things worse. From the broom incident on Harry is suddenly so complacent, too complacent. I'm not sure how to put this, really, I'm a bit frustrated. I guess Harry changes towards Snape (more accepting of his decisions and power over him, having strong feelings as shown by him saving Snape) but I don't see anything in Snape's behaviour to warrent this change from Harry. Euh.. something like that.. ;-) Looking forward to the next chapter, and where you will take this storyline.(Especially curious to see what kind of temper tantrum Draco will throw!) Author's Response: Hey Kari thanks for your review. I think I know what you're saying. I wish I'd put in a bit more depth to what Harry was thinking in the last chapter. I will try to address this in the next one though. Harry hasn't forgotten the broom incident - that will come up again soon. As far as Harry's changed feelings to Snape go. This is how I'm thinking: He's particularly vulnerable at the moment after what happened with Sirius and really craves the simple support Snape has been giving him -talking things through, dealing with nightmares etc. It takes a scarily small amount to make Harry feel extremely grateful. In addition to this Harry's eyes have been opened to how heroic Snape's role is for the Order (allowing himself to be tortured and injured etc). It doesn't occur to Harry to feel that Snape owes him something for saving his life, he just worries that next time he might not make it. As I say hopefully I'll explore some of this a bit more soon. Oh and there's definately gonna be some interesting Draco moments on the way! Cheers for reviewing - your comments highlighted some stuff I was thinking myself...:)
Horrible nightmares! But you wrote them well. Poor Harry, having to move into Slytherin but it's not as bad as it could have been! I think the last dream was a vision which means Sirius might still be alive!!! Mind you, something else could happen to him yet...*mutters darkly* Great chapter! Author's Response: Your review really made me smile:) Yeah Donovan is going to be a bit of a loose cannon trying to stir up trouble... Slytherin aren't gonna know what's hit them what with him and Harry. Um... I can't really comment too much on your last comment just yet but I'm glad you're enjoying it and really appreciate you taking the time to review.
Author's Response: Thanks! Next chapter will probably be in a week cos I'm off on hol for 5 days but I have started it. Hopefully i should be quite interesting as things kick off a bit in Slytherin lol... Cheers for reviewing it means a lot
Love it! Can't wait for the next chappie. Author's Response: No he doesn't know yet. There will definitely be fireworks on the way...despite Snape being confident that 'Slytherins don't hex one another'! :)
Author's Response: Thanks! New chapter is now up! :)
Author's Response: Hey, thanks for your review. The next chapter is a little bitty but I hope it's ok! There will be more details about how Harry managed to save Snape soon (it didn't make it into this chapter). Glad you're enjoying the story so far :) |
