Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
I absolutely loved that Snape didn't care that his legs were falling asleep on the bathroom floor. The thought that he would stay there however long necessary as long as his son was laughing, brought tears to my eyes. Very well done. And to wrap it up by having them cloud watching in the staff garden was such a great tension reliever.
Not as rough a chapter as some, but still challenging (as is to be expected in this AU) but very well done (those writing classes must come in handy from time to time ;-) ) Thanks for posting! V.
Well, as I wrote a looooooooooooooooooonge review on your live journal, I'll try and keep it shorter here-it took a couple of HOURS to organize my thoughts and type your review on lj. I was glad to see this chapter. You did a fine job of handling Harry's hair loss. As I mentioned in your live journal, I was pleased to see the little details in your writing (the keeping a lock of hair, the rounded face from steroids). That's one thing I've always admired about your writing, even in early chapters there were a lot of little details that made it real. Like in one chapter you mention Harry is allergic to latex. I look forward to your next chapter!
I loved how he offered to shave his own head, and how he told Harry about Lily shaving hers that time. You know, if Harry is truly bothered by it, isn't there some way that magic could compensate, even if it's just Severus casting a glamour that makes it appear that Harry still has his hair? Or would magic affect the disease in some way? Or maybe Harry can deal with the loss of his hair better than that. Maybe he can take it in stride. I loved the ending, too, with the cloud-gazing. Anyway, great job and I'm looking forward to more!
I'm so happy that Severus and Harry are finally starting to bond as father and son. Welcome back with a bang! :)
