Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
Very good update Ella! Sorry I didn't see it sooner. Happy spring to you! The first day of spring up here we got snow. >_< But thanks for a lovely update! :) Author's Response: I was quite a depressing chapter, however the next one is almost a 180 in comparison. I could've name it "A Moment of Euphoria," but I couldn't pass up calling it "A Sleeping Dragon." Harry's still confused, but some good news makes him forget that by the end of the chapter for a bit. Oh, and happy finals. I know it's not something exciting and they suck, but it means summer break! Thanks!
Author's Response: I'm happy to hear that my story is one of your favorites. I totally forgive you as I can be extremely lazy in reviews, too. I think that's why I try to make sure to respond because I know that reviewing can take effort. lol. ;) I hope to get the next chapter out sooner than it took me to write this one. Thanks!
Author's Response: *Hugs* Your treatments sound painful and horrible. I'm so glad you're through with them and they'll hopefully continue to be a distant memory. His pain is most likely a combination of the two, but we'll hear more about it in the next chapter. ;) From what I've gathered in my research, transfusions seem to be a pretty common thing with leukemia, which I guess makes sense since it's a blood cancer and the intense chemo that's used to treat it. Thanks, and I hope the next update won't take me as long.
Yep, I knew Severus just had to know that Harry was suffering under the effects of that awful curse. Poor Harry. I LOVED how Harry went all over the board with what he thought or verbally called Severus. From Sir, at the beginning, to Professor to thinking "Professor-er-father," to Snape to git." Harry's emotions are flinging everywhere, as a teenager in this situation would be. I also LOVED that Harry was still seeking out comfort from his Dad, even if he was not totally aware of each time. There's hope for them yet. :-D LOL, I know this sounds at best odd, but I can't wait for Harry to start loosing his hair. Not TOTALLY because it's yet more agnst, but it will be easier for me to draw him. The reason I haven't done pictures up close with Harry yet, is because every time I draw his hair it looks like a porcypine who stuck his paw in a electrical outlet and oddly enough, Kevin Jonas (not that I follow them). LOL, did Slytherin get those extra points? (Not that I drew them for that, I'm just teasing you. :-D )Have a great day. I also thought that the scene with Severus pondering the usefulness of potions was touching. :-D Aww. Uh oh, sounds like trouble ahead for Harry in the nerves department. Chemo is a horror, and to mix it with Voldy's loving tender care, sheesh. Author's Response: Of course Severus knew, his observation skills are like second to none. ;) Yay, you picked up on all of Harry's names for Severus. It'll most likely be like this for a bit until they come to an agreement or truce, but I don't think Harry will fully believe whatever Severus says, but will respond to Sev's actions instead. His subconscious isn't subject to Harry's teenage dramatics, lol, and knows that Severus' actions have been truthful despite what Harry thinks. LOL. Harry's hair will fall out soon, so you can then draw him. ;) I need to get Slytherin some points for you. I forgot to add them into the total last time. Severus has always been able to rely on potions and so now like Harry, he feels a sense of betrayal, though that doesn't mean Severus is going to give up potions anytime soon. Thanks, and I'm hoping to get a new chapter of S&E soon.
Author's Response: Thanks! Harry's confused, in pain, and generally just feeling horrible. I'm sure the good news will hit him later, and he'll appreciate it, but for now his pain in the only thing on his mind. Well, his pain and his "hatred" for Severus. They have a lot to work out, but I'm sure they'll eventually accept each other as father and son.
Author's Response: Thanks! Harry does need to forgive Severus, and you're right, but I'm sure he's not thinking about technicalities at the moment. He'll come around, he just needs a bit more time.
Anyway, I love this story. I think you write Harry's vulnerability so well. I love that he has moments where he can be weak. He needs it. I can't wait until Ron and Hermione get to see him. I hope it's soon. I love this story! Please update soon...like today Author's Response: I wouldn't abandon the story. I hate when people do that, but I've been in a little writing rut as of late, which has made writing near impossible. It's strange because I have the ideas, but when I sit down to write it's worse than pulling teeth. I suppose it's expected though since I tend to have writing cycles where for a few months I write like crazy and then a few months where it's near to impossible. Hopefully that cycle will end soon, so as much as I'd like to surprise you guys with another update, I don't have one for you. :( I have started the next chapter though, even if I'm only a few hundred words in, it's something. I hate it when Harry is strong the entire time. He's a teenager that literally has the world on his shoulders. Realistically, he could never be strong the entire time without going crazy. Hermione and Ron will see Harry soon, Ron a bit before Hermione, but first Harry's pain needs to ease. I can't imagine him wishing to see anyone in the state he's in now. Thanks!
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm happy to hear you liked it.
And poor Severus too. I love your story and this chapter was great I like how you don't have Harry just suddenly forgiving Severus. Thats not to say I don't want him to forgive Severus, but I like how its happening slowly. Thanks for sharing this wonderful story! Author's Response: Thanks! It would be completely unrealistic if Harry just suddenly forgave Severus. He has every right to be angry. Sev's choice just reinforced Harry's beliefs that adults can't be trusted or relied upon. Sev will have to be consistent and work to get Harry to trust him again and realize that he really wants to be a father to Harry in every way.
As Always, I look forward to your next update. V. Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm so happy to hear that you're "feeling" Harry's and Severus' emotions. This chapter was really focused on that so we could see how Sev's revelation to Harry affected them both, a baseline if you will so we can see where they're starting at and where they need to go to fully accept each other as father and son. |
