Aww, you can't stop there! What happens next? And what does Dumbledore think he's doing, intercepting Snape's mail? That's not on.

Author's Response: I had to stop somewhere. ;) Dumbledore is being his meddling self by intercepting Sev's mail. You'll see what happens next soon, but I'm sure we'll see some Harry and Sev interaction and the Order meeting in the next chapter.

O_O Holy Crap!! What?!?! Sev never really LOVED Lily and just wanted to be a father?!? And James LET Severus SLEEP with his wife?? And Severus OBLIVIATED himself?!?! Ella!- you're so...so Slytherin! I wanted to read more, but it ended! Oh, that wasn't very nice of you...but I suppose I do that kinda stuff with my stories too, don't I? ^-^

VERY GOOD!!! Besides the ending, I love how Severus flaunted with wealth by slipping the guard a ten. XD That was funny. And I love how disgusted he was with all the kids and the pictures! XD And the old lady griping at him was hilarious too. XD Okay, and imagining Severus with a baby Harry was ADORABLE!!

I must say, I've never read a fic where Severus merely wanted a child and did not necessarily want Lily as well, but this was very interesting and I LOVE it! Update when you can!!!

    Author's Response:

*smiles slyly* I always knew the Sorting Hat would stick me in Slytherin. The chapter had to end somewhere. ;)

I think Severus loved Lily, but it was unrequited on Lily's side. He understood she loved James, and learned to be content with being her best friend. He never wanted to come between James and her. I wanted to show a different side to James as well. Often he get regarded as a bully, a person Harry comes to somewhat resent, and I didn't want that to happen. I also wanted to figure out a situation where Harry was a wanted child because he spent so much of his childhood as the unwanted nephew that no one cared about, and I just couldn't make him the result of a one-night stand or an affair.

I'm happy to hear you liked the "lighter" moments of the chapter. It brought some emotional balance to the chapter and was a chance to bring out Sev's snarky side. He hasn't gone completely soft after all. Thanks!

Good job on the loooong chapter, another one I read first thing in the morning (yeah, I was able to find it despite it not having been on the "recently updated list" at the time. I can't spend a lot of time reviewing this go-round, Father's visiting from Florida. You were right, that was a shock that Dumbledore had a semi-good reason for not telling, yet knowing about the news. I still don't like that he oblivated Molly though. I suppose that will come back to haunt him soon. I liked that Ron and Ginny think something's not on the up and up already. Good job!

I absolutely LOVED this line: ""My child," Severus hissed, his fingernails digging into his fists, "happens to be very ill, so ill that the common cold could kill him so excuse me if I wish to take the necessary precautions to ensure my child has a fighting chance to live." " Way to go Severus!

My heart broke at this line, "think you wanted your own son or daughter to cherish and experience the perfect childhood, unlike the unconventional and at times neglectful childhood that you endured between your parents and aunt and uncle." Poor Severus, poor Harry.

Anyways, a great chapter and I hope that you update soon. I look forward to more interaction between Harry and Severus, as well as the infamous Order meeting. Great job!

    Author's Response:

Dumbledore isn't fully innocent. He'll still have to answer to Sev, and I don't think the Order meeting will go over well for him.

I'm so happy you loved that line. I thought it was so typical of what happens in real life. People half the time just can't help but comment on others.

It's natural to want to give your child more and better than what you had, and I couldn't resist giving Severus something to live for. In canon, his life is so depressing in a way. He has no one, and I know that makes him the perfect spy, but everyone deserves someone and what better than a child to love and cherish. Also, everyone has dreams and I wanted to show that even a cold person like Severus at one time had them.

Next chapter will definitely include some interaction between Harry and Sev. Harry was feeling a little ignored this chapter, but he'll be back. Thanks! :)

Omg!! That was so amazing. I'm so glad that Severus is Harry's true father. I love the story behind it as well.

Now Severus can really take care of Harry properly.

I'm just really curious as to what Harry's reaction is going to be, or his friends for that matter!

Maybe Harry will be happy though, now that he's grown fond of Severus. Now he'll have a father to love and protect him.

I can't wait for the next chappie!

Author's Response: Harry hasn't revealed to me what his reaction will be yet. I think it'll depend on when Sev decides is the best time to tell him. I'm happy to hear you thought the chapter was amazing, Pandora!

I especially liked this sentence: "I don't know how you did it, but somehow you managed to only erase the memories of Hadrian, and everything else was left in tact." In canon, it always seemed so naive that Hermione could do that to her parents before she even finished Hogwarts. JKR made it as if it was no hardship, but really, it is a big piece of magic - and I like that even Lily, who was gifted with charms was surprised when Severus did it... I hope this comment make sense, heh. Mila

Author's Response: Obliviation is a big piece of magic. I think Lily was even more impressed that Sev managed to cast it upon himself successfully. So many things could've gone wrong, and it was completely irresponsible and reckless of him, but he was desperate. I guess we know where Harry got his reckless streak from. ;)

At least it wasn't Dumbledore because I would have had a hard time forgiving that. As always, can't wait for more. :)

Author's Response: Although I set Dumbledore up perfectly to take the blame, it was a bit of misdirection on my part to lead you guys on the wrong path, though Dumbledore still has some answering to do. Thanks!

Wonderful, bittersweet chapter! Poor everyone!!! At list Lily left documents and memories for Severus. I have so enjoyed this story!!! Can't wait for the next chapter. Ron, Hermine and Ginny aren't as thickheaded as everyone thinks. They will have this figured out soon and demand to see Harry and be with him while he's going through all this, if for nothing else to make sure Severur is treating their friend right. Boy, what until the news of Severus being Harry's father gets out to them! WOW, I see fireworks over that one!

Ya me!!!! 300th! (Takes a bow)

Author's Response: Yes, Lily had to leave documents and memories for Severus, though they are Sev's own memories. She managed to win one argument. ;) Fireworks are definitely ahead, I can assure you that, though maybe not from what you speculated. Thanks!

Beautifully written. I absolutely love this story. Vivid personal knowledge of cancer aside, you are doing a beautiful job of showing how ill, weak, yet courageous the afflicted and the caregiver are in the face of such a dire illness - thank you for that gift. Also, I felt the letter was perfect and unexpected. Having read so many stories where the parentage of Snape has been other fault for being hidden it came as a deligtful surprise that it was Snape himself hiding the fact. What a twist. I check for updates on this storie at least twice a day. I can't wait to see what happens next. I hope it goes on for many many many more chapters. Thank you so much again for this story.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! Sometimes I think it's harder for the caregiver in not only a cancer situation, but any illness, physical or mental, especially for a parent of a sick child. Yay, I surprised you. ;) Wow, you check twice a day? I can assure you that I'm nowhere near finishing this story. I feel like in some senses it's only just begun.

I, personally, tend to say either Pee-cawn or P'cawn. Yes, I kind of alternate back and forth.

Another excellent chapter and DD has officially pissed me off, as I'm sure you wished to have happen...

Author's Response: Perhaps I have. ;) Whether it's misdirection or not remains to be seen... Thanks!
