Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
I say Pee-can up here in Michigan. Author's Response: You'll just have to wait and see... ;) I mostly say pee-cawn. I think it's a morph of my Great Lakes dialect from growing up near Chicago and living down in Alabama. Strangely, I think it's the only word that I say differently. I've refused to pick up a southern accent. lol.
um pea-ka-n? lol! my dad loves pistachios >_> pecans remind me of pecan pie...but i'd rather have apple :) Author's Response: Maybe we can get someone who does fanart to draw us up a pic to see. I'd do it, but I think Sev would look the same either way as a stick figure. ;) lol. I'm sure Harry will be shocked, but probably in a good way. My dad loves pistachios, too, but our pecans are free. lol. Thanks!
V. p.s. (P'cawn) :-) Author's Response: Unfortunately, the next chapter will take a bit to get written and posted. I'm in the middle of a six day straight work, class, or both streak. I have to work Sunday for the first time in a few months which just sucks. That's usually the day I do absolutely nothing, my catch up on sleep, clear my mind, watch football, and usually a bit of writing day. I'm happy to hear you liked the idea of Severus "showing" himself. Of course, Severus wouldn't ask for real help. lol. ;) Plus, I don't think he's ready to inform his mother about the latest addition to the family. Thanks!
Author's Response: Yes, it seems like he does, but how and why does he know...
Oh, that was great. Dumbledore is up to something and I hope that Severus can figure out what it is and soon. Great chappie. I love how Severus is really starting to care for Harry, and I hope that he gets his answers. I'm having a rough week, and seeing that you updated made me smile! Nice work. Author's Response: Dumbledore is up to something, but I bet it's not what you think... Don't worry, Severus will figure it out very soon. He'll get his answers and I'm really excited to see the reaction of what I've got planned. I totally hear you on the rough week. My job has left me cranky all week, and it's only going to get worse as we head into the weekend. I'm glad to hear I made you smile. :)
"Fawkes trilled disapprovingly at him, but Albus ignored the phoenix. His plan was safe for now and that was all that mattered."-Okay, I'm with Fawkes on this one. Nice one Albus *rolls eyes* He's such a jerk some...most of the time and no one ever really knows! And Sev doesn't think HE'S good with Harry? Better than the bloody Headmaster! And I'm glad you explained why he goes by "Snape" when he's a Prince. Very good! ^-^ But the WCS has me a bit worried. Hmm...hopefully they don't want to take Harry away! That would be terrible! Well, I'm off to try and sleep. No luck the past few nights, but I'll read more tomorrow! Again, very good and I give you a piece of pie! XD Author's Response: Yay, a piece of pie. I hope it's apple. Yes, Albus is acting quite like a jerk at the moment though believe it or not he has a good reason... I spent some of the night idea brainstorming, and I totally love when I came up with. WCS has an alarming letter for Severus, but now in the way you're thinking... Get some sleep, Ivy. Some extra for me, too. I have to work tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday, and I'm totally not looking forward to it. Come Monday, I'll probably sleep til like 2 just to get caught up.
Oh! And now the chemo begins! I'm so nervous! I love the angsty chappies, but at the same time I hope Harry doesn't go through too much *bites nails* Poor kid! Again, great chappie Ella! (hope I helped my house with your little competition *looks nervous*) Author's Response: I'm sure there'll be lighter moments intermixed with the angst. They just always seem to pop up while I'm writing. You totally helped with the little house competition though I think everyone but one person was a Slytherin, if I remember correctly. It's late and it's been quite a bit of time since I wrote that chapter. I'm glad Harry likes smoothies because I'm totally with Snape on them. Something about the texture and opaqueness freaks me out. Then again, I can't stand milk, milkshakes, or yogurt so that pretty much takes smoothies out the mix for me.
'"I assure you the walls are too thick for me to hear how you and your housemates plan my demise," Snape said, his lips curling up into the slightest smile.'-Best line! XD That was too funny! He even KNOWS how much the students don't like him. LOL That was great! Okay, so now I REALLY want Snape's library! It sounds so COOL! I'd totally live in there!...if it had internet access so I could read on my laptop too, of course XD But it really does sound like my perfect library. Minerva and Flurry was an amazing idea! Poor Flurry though. She knows Harry and she just wants to love him! Sev's gunna have to let her sleep with him more often now. I wish I knew exactly what McGonagall said to Flurry though...oh well. It was very cute! Well, Ella, this was amazing and I love it to bits! I'll have to read later on! Oh, I'm Slytherin, and was Harry looking at LOTR? I think Sev would be a Tolkien fan! XD Author's Response: Yay, Ivy. I totally agree with you about the library. Harry's too thin at the moment, and most of it isn't even from his cancer. After Sirius died, Harry was depressed and somewhat withdrawn, a perfect recipe for not being hungry. He's thin to begin with, and it doesn't take much for him to be too thin. I'm happy to hear you loved that line. I like that one, too. The Minerva and Flurry scene was one of those that I had the idea for, for quite some time and couldn't wait to write. It was a lot of fun to write, and I can still totally picture little Flurry sitting there at attention. I'm sure whatever McGonagall said was very teacher like. Oh, and 5 points to Slytherin! ;) Thanks again, Ivy!
Poor Harry...what a horrible blow to learn about his disease. I'm so glad that Severus has been able to see how mistaken he's been about Harry, and has become protective of him. Harry is really going to need someone who is devoted to him and who can be strong for him. Loved Minerva here too. She has a kind heart and really cares for Harry, and the other students, underneath her stern exterior. Author's Response: Thanks! It's hard to balance the emotional stuff with the facts, you know? And it's like how detailed to go, and yet keep it interesting without confusing people. Severus has his own storyline that's kinda in the background at the moment, but you'll start seeing more of it soon. He's becoming very protective of Harry, and I think he'll turn into a bit of a germ freak. ;) I'm glad you liked Minerva. In the books she isn't a very hands-on Head of House, but you know she cared for her students.
Poor Harry, what awful treatments and tests to have to endure... Author's Response: You're going to be annoyed with Dumbledore for a while. He likes to meddle in things he shouldn't, but I think eventually he'll come around. *smiles slyly* ;) Poor Harry, indeed. I absolutely hate needles, and I would've totally freaked out way more than Harry. I almost passed out once because I was so freaked because the doctor needed to take like two small vials of blood for some tests. |
