Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
Can't wait for the next chapter! Author's Response: Ugh, cavities are the devil. I totally feel you on that. How about a pack of sugar-free gum instead? Yay, I caught you by surprise. Reading isn't nearly as fun when you can predict everything that's going to happen. Thanks!
Author's Response: It's definitely is a change, but a good one. ;) Sometimes I think the exams to find out what's wrong is worse than anything afterwards because of all the anxiety that goes along with uncertainty.
And Harry's treatment just doesn't sound like any fun. >_< Good thing Sev and deal with it though. He's got a will of steal. But I'm with Harry on the school part. I don't like to get up to do stuff either, but boy does it feel weird when you don't! Very good, and Miss Lucy is still adorable! I think she's a great doctor for Harry. Someone he can get along with and won't scare him too much (as it's inevitable for him NOT to be scared about cancer or its treatments. Sooo...you're a Bears fan, eh? I have friends that like the Bears. I'm not big into football myself, but if I cheer for a team it'd have to be the Indy Colts! Yay Indiana! Well, I have to go for a bit, but I'll read later on tonight! Have some chips and salsa :D Author's Response: Not only will it feel weird for Harry to not attend class, it'll be even weirder since his friends will be. You know it's like more "normal" when your whole group of friends are experiencing the same change like switching from middle to high school compared to when you're the only one experience it. Harry needed a pediatric mediwitch. He needed an understanding witch compared to how cold adults can be. Yes, my house is total Bears country. A little Chicago like oasis in Alabama. lol. We've got a bye week tomorrow, boo, but maybe that means I'll get more writing done. We'll see. I am sooo tired, so I'm not sure if I'll respond to any other reviews tonight, but I'll get to them tomorrow if not.
Poor Harry, being sick all night long. But good thing Sev was there with him, but oh, how horrible to watch it all so helplessly! I don't think I could have done that. *winces* I think I'd have to just walk away to collect my emotions, but Snape hung in there, didn't he? And Miss Lucy (cute name, by the way)there and now Harry feels betrayed! How sad! Poor Sev...but it all worked out in the end, which I'm glad of. I don't think Harry could have really dealt with that seperation too. And the wand, magic, thing was adorable! ^-^ I'm glad Harry is still remembering that he's a wizard. Way, way cute! And Sev's encouraging, so it's all good...kinda.... Well, I'm actually off to read my first chappie of the night! Author's Response: Sev is totally being Harry's rock. This first week for Harry is going to be really hard. His body just doesn't like the cancer meds. There's going to be some feeling things out between Sev and Harry. Neither of them know how to really make their relationship or one like it work, and there'll be some trial and error. Harry's apprehensive about using magic at the moment. After all, his magic hasn't been working right and in that position would you really want to use it with others around to likely see your failure?
I like Flurry. I have a little spoiled brat of a cat, too, and he's quite smug about it. You can just tell by the look on his face that he knows he's got us wrapped around his little paws. Author's Response: Yes, everyone should be worried when Sev is. Yay, you liked the levels and theories. Severus is such an academic and rarely do we see that in detail besides with Potions or Defense. In my experience when someone is very smart, the person tends to be interested in lots of things, not just one or two subjects. Flurry is such a cute little cat. I wished mine was more like her. Instead, I have a psychotic Roxie who is currently staring at her own shadow and watching it move. But that doesn't make her psychotic, it's that she bites and perks her ears back just right that makes her look evil. However, she's still a spoiled brat.
I like that Severus suspects something going on with Harry, though. Not much gets by him, and that's probably a good thing for Harry right now. I also liked that he understood that Harry was honestly afraid of him, of being kidnapped, when Severus brought him down to his rooms and that he regretted it. Sev does have a heart after all, no matter how much he tries to hide it! Great line about how he would never kidnap Harry cause he didn't want to be haunted by Lily's ghost. Author's Response: Yes, Dumbledore can be quite annoying. Severus' spy training is definitely a blessing for Harry, especially since we know Harry isn't the type to say something is wrong until it's almost too late. As for the "kidnapping," Harry just lost Sirius, and mentally he's just not right after that yet, and of course when a person is like that their moods and reactions tend to be sporadic and extreme. I'm happy to hear you liked that line. I love finding out what lines, paragraphs, and moments really resonated with my readers.
Poor Severus and poor Harry, having their summer 'ruined'... Author's Response: Thanks! Perhaps because they are? ;)
No, actually, I'm sad, but I'm not really desperately depressed right now. You know why? Cuz Sev was there to help! I LOVE the emotion throughout this, the whole thing! It was great! Harry was crying and screaming and cried some more (which I think he's entitled to in this story) and Sev kept it cool even though I'm sure on the inside he was just about as hysterical as Harry. Man, I love drama! This was just so good! But now Harry's feeling sick from the treatment. How sad!! But Sev's there to take care of him. He basically just told Harry in a roundabout way that he'd adopt him. So yay Sev! Way cute! But stay with Snape's parents? The HIPPIES?!?! That should be fun! *grins evilly*XD What will Mrs. Prince have to say about Sev?? Oh the possibilities! Well, since you gave me a lollie, it would be rude for me not to give you anything in return, so I'll give you a big ol' smile to lighten this sad chapter! :D (real Ivy smile's so much better) Author's Response: *Hands over lollipops* Yay, I'm so happy you liked this chapter. It was horrible to write, well emotionally draining and felt like torture by the end. All the dialogue pretty much came at once and I didn't want to stop that flow, so afterwards I had to go back and fill it all in. That part soooo sucked and seemed like it took forever. By then I was like on hour eight of writing the chapter, and it was way too long to be so involved with the chapter. I somewhat inserted myself into Harry's point of view and so yeah. Sev's parents will be very minor characters. Later on they'll appear more I think. Yes, poor Harry. He's already feeling sick and it isn't looking like he'll feel better anytime soon. Ugh, well I'm off to bed so I can not be dead during my 9:30 am class. I know it doesn't sound super early, but it takes me like 40 mins to get there, so I get to get up at 7:30. Yay, not. Thanks!
That whole thing just made me hurt! >_< Oh, my chest started to feel really funny, like in a bad way. That whole thing does not. sound. pleasant! Oh it made me squirm! But that just means it was written very well, so good job to you! Poppy's gunna catch some major Snape rage soon, isn't she? And she's waiting for it. Poor lady, but she should have kept her big mouth shut! And Snape was just wonderful in this! He was right there when Harry needed him and he's even ran his hand through the boy's hair. AWW! Well, I'm off to the next chappie! Have some apple bread! (made it fresh ^-^) Author's Response: *Hands the whole box of Kleenex over to Ivy* You'll need it by the time you get to reviewing the chapter you're now reading. Poppy totally should've kept her mouth shut, but people make mistakes and I think she'll be paying for this one for a while. I agree that what Harry went through totally doesn't sound pleasant, but it means less needle pricks, and it was somewhat necessary since chemo can really damage your veins. Yay, I get apple bread! I can't even get my dad to bake me brownies. :)
Author's Response: I think including that last word is almost more suspenseful because now you're wondering what's going to happen next. It is really hard on the carer. Before my grandpa died, he was in the hospital for like 3 months and my grandma used to call me several times a week, and you could just hear how tired and on edge she was. |
