Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
Author's Response: Yes, Harry gets a tiny positive out of all those, though I have no doubt Severus will figure something out. He was actually feeling a little lost because in some ways restricting Harry from brewing is restricting Sev, too, and he brewing is one of his passions. I'm happy Flurry can stay around, too. You're right about them needing her. Thanks!
I love him getting a practice snitch. That's so awesome for him. It's also really great of Snape to be so understanding and prepared for everything. I'm excited for the next chapter! Author's Response: Thanks! Harry needs some small things to be happy about, and I'm sure Miss Adamson knew that. Plus, it's a good subtle way to encourage Harry move around and get some exercise even if it is minimal. If Snape knows how to do anything right, it's being prepared.
Author's Response: A set of burgundy and gold pom-pons coming right up! I think it's important that Harry gets to decide how much information he wants. He's nearly sixteen and while still very much a child, he needs to make some decisions with guidance to help him make the transition into adulthood that's coming in a few years. Of course some things will be kept from Harry just as any adult doesn't tell a teen absolutely everything like Harry doesn't need to know he's the only case of cancer seen in a wizard at his age. I'm glad you like Miss Adamson, but there's no plans to get her together with Sev. There's no place in the storyline for a romance between them. Thanks!
Author's Response: Yes, there is. As Harry and Sev learn, so do we. Thanks!
Yep, we are definately and officially on the down hill side for how Harry is going to feel for a long time. YOu are doing a great job of being "accurate" about the disease without writing a "snooze-fest" congrats! V. (can I have 2 sets of pom-poms? purple and black for the Ravens and Red and White for the Chiefs--they play each other tomorrow and I'm so Torn! ;-) ) Author's Response: I'm happy Flurry can stick around, too. Animals can brighten even the worst day. Yep, we're starting to slide downhill which will be marked by a return to a darker tone next chapter. I think I've been able to keep it accurate without being a snooze-fest by digging into the characters' emotions, and not being overly clinical and cold with my writing. Thanks! Of course you can have two sets of pom-pons since neither are for the Packers. ;) At least with your teams, you'll be happy with whoever wins.
Poor Harry, it just all seems so overwhelming, and I'm an adult. I can't imagine how terrifying it all must be for a child to go through all that. I'm just so impressed at how strong and supportive Severus is. He's like a rock; he's an anchor for Harry, and who'd a thunk it?! You are a very gift writer Ella, and even though the subject matter is heartbreaking, you have a way of writing it, that softens the blow. Although, you write the treatments with such detail, you still manage to instil such hope for Harry; because he has Severus there for him through thick and thin. Author's Response: Thanks! Harry's terrified, that's for sure and we'll see that as the story progresses. He's not just terrified over his treatments either. He's dealing with so much uncertainty with the whole situation and everything that's happened. It'll take time and work for Harry to feel himself again. Sev's been a rock so far. All his years as a spy and suppressing his emotions have helped him to handle Harry, though I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes more affected later on... Thanks for the comments about my writing. They make me smile. I think the hopeful feeling comes from me being an optimist and seeing the glass as always half-full.
Author's Response: Thanks! It'll probably be another chapter yet, but the darker tone will return next chapter to up the angst again. ;)
Author's Response: I think she'll understand since she'll be told in a way she understands...
Yay, football! Go Cowboys! :D That would be blue and white...oh, dear...you know what I just realized? My team has the same colors as my high school...That's a little scary...and it's even more scary that I only just noticed it... *puppy-dog eyes* Am I #200?? Although I suppose it's really not fair of me...oh, well! Can't wait for the next chapter! Author's Response: Thanks. That's scary that you just noticed that. You're number 191. Close, but not quite.
Author's Response: Thank you. I'm happy to hear that someone loved the we vs. you thing. It totally came out of nowhere when I was writing, and I like it so much that I made it the chapter title. :) |
