Reviews For Just a father
Author's Response: ObsessiveaboutSnape, Wicked, thanks!! I'm glad to hear that you enjoy it so much. Thank-you. -Mel :)
Never came across a story where Harry decided he wants Snape to be his dad....Very interesting angle. Looking forward to reading more! Author's Response: ObsessiveaboutSnape, Haha, YAY! I'm happy to hear that though, I'm thrilled to hear that this plot is quite original and unique in its own way. Thank-you! -Mel :)
The realization to Harry that there was never any mail, birthday/Christmas presents delivered to Snape was so sad...And it really made an impact (at least in me) when Harry thought that maybe Snape was just as alone as he was. Ugh! Lovely! I love how Harry is so determined to get Snape a Christmas present but has no clue what he should get him, since he knows next to nothing about him. Goes to show that first impressions (or first hatred-on-sight) can blind someone to alot of things. A new mystery: Why would Hogwarts be closed during the Christmas break? Hmm. Including the whole staff being away too. I wonder what could be going on... *sips tea to ponder for a moment* What if he accepted indeed, Harry! I can see how Snape would say, 'You are requesting to intrude on my holiday simply because you do not wish to return to your family?' and not realize how that would sound to an insecure, nervous Harry...It was in character in terms of his speech. I'm glad Snape isn't all "Let's drink eggnog! Let's make Christmas treats together! Let's decorate a tree together!" right away, because he would first have this temper explosion of harshness, before realizing that it hurt Harry, so yay to you! And even after he did accept, Harry's reaction made that! Love the thoughts of Snape after they get to Spinner's End, and how he is nervous to have Harry there...The fact that he cleaned a little was a good way to enforce that nervous, self-conscious feeling. Yes, Muggle-lifestyle-living Snape is always interesting. And Harry had the gall to ask that! Oh dear! *keeps reading* Interesting that Snape has the television but he hasn't watched it in about ten years. Hmm...Is your Snape a pack-rat? Yes, it is sure to be "an interesting Christmas for Harry and Snape this year..." I am looking forward to it... By the way, there are some typos in this that are starting to catch my eye. Would you like me to point them out to you, so you could correct them if you want? I'd be willing to sniff out the typos, if you want...Just an offer. *unwraps and nibbles chocolate frog...* Yummy! Thanks for my chocolate frog and the huge thanks and a hug. Was very excited about it! Thanks! I look forward to this and your other story often. Good job on this story, so far! Author's Response: Raven Knight, Oh no, I ADORE your reviews...so long and filled with goodness lol. The only downside I have is that I wish I could thank you more or reply in much more length and detail but in all honestly I am just unsure as to what to reply with. But I do thank you, very much! They're as alone as the other indeed, I wanted to make that clear :P. And true, the blinding first impressions is a hard thing to get around, but they're working on it I think. Haha, Snape and eggnog...classic. Yeah it's not to his character to suddenly turn cheerful and such, simply because Harry is there. In fact, having Harry there should make things more difficult, which I've tried to show. all your lovely comments are motivating and I love reading them, so thank-you...you're also very correct in them too. Although no, Snape isn't a pack rat but the tv hasn't been on since his father was there, that was what I tried to imply. It was a very common source of distraction for the man and kept Severus and Elieen off his mind for a while as he got drunk. To Snape is was something to be greatful for although it is now just a reminder since his father is long gone. If you come across typos, yes please do tell me as I hope to get around to fixing them. You deserved the chocolate frog and hug! Glad to hear that you like both of my stories!! Thank you so much! :D. -Mel :)
Author's Response: Jessirose85, Thanks. I agree with you there. -Mel :)
I'm happy that Severus allowed Harry to stay with him. It'll be good for their relationship as long as they interact with each other. I hope we see more of that next chapter, and I can't wait for it because I love Christmas chapters! FYI, I noticed one or two typos, and the one I remember is scarlet being misspelled when describing Harry's room. :) Author's Response: Ellaeleniel, The bold happens sometimes, it's unintentional and very annoying. I shall fix it, thanks. Interaction at Spinner's End is rather unavoidable, luckily :P. Haha, glad to hear it. Christmas chapters are nice indeed. Oh okay, I wasn't aware that scarlet wasn't "skarlet" for some reason I've seen it with a "k" and presumed it was that way. What was the onther typo? Thanks for telling me, I shall fix it asap. -Mel :)
Author's Response: Justhoanjm, Heh, thanks. -Mel :)
-P.G. Author's Response: P.G, Thanks! Haha, potions coaching...that's an interesting idea indeed, although it may take a little time for Snape to trust Harry fully within his potions labs :P. The Christmas is good, yes if not a little awkward and weird...but in all sense of it, I suppose it is mostly possitive, although the last few days are important and a little less joyous. I will update asap! I always do. Thanks. -Mel :)
I'm so glad that Snape agreed to take Harry in for Christmas. Harry really deserves to have family. I'm so looking forward to seeing them really bond this Christmas., Oh, and I bet that Dumbledore had this all planned from beginning to end!! Too cute. Ooh, I can't wait for the next chapter. Author's Response: Pandora, Thanks, thrilled to hear it! Yeah, I felt it would make a nice Christmas and the pair truly do deserve a chance at some happiness, to have some sort of family. Haha, Dumbledore does have some involvement, yes. Thanks, I'm happy to hear that. -Mel :)
Author's Response: Crystal cove, Wow, I'm glad to hear that you think this is one of my best yet! Glad to hear it, thanks! -Mel :)
