Reviews For Outcast's Alley
This is the best creature!fic that I've honestly ever read. It's everything that I've looked for in the genre. The one and only thing I had an issue with was not dropping enough 'hints' about Snape in this 'book', though I do think you have a plan and am the edge of my seat - and will be, hopefully not for long - waiting for upcoming chapters! Good luck and you are an extremely talented author! I'm thoroughly impressed with this piece!
And when he gets to the library that night, Cassandra Carson wants to know if he is who she thinks he just might be...so three different people in one day recognize Harry/Tobias as Tobias-she. Very cool. I am very curious about Andra - is she fae but able to totally hide her People-ness? Are her tattoos an attempt to be more like Fae? She knows more than most...obviously. Oh well, I will humbly wait until all things are revealed about Andra. Regarding the first interaction with Umbridge in this chapter, thank you for developing her fear as well as her prejudice against Non-Humans. It makes more sense this way...never really thought about it when reading the 5th book. So she's not just a bully, she's a uber-cowardly, bullying, torturing bigot. Well done! And Tobias/Harry's shallow bow is delicious 'icing on the cake' for that scene! You deserve a nice Lolly for that! Thanks for showing Flitwick's and Sprout's response/attitude toward Tobias/Harry -basically- not doing his schoolwork. Can anything be done to help the boy? How about a Quick-Quotes Quill? Or hire Molly to help as-needed with Mo? Will Tobias/Harry's struggle with school make leaving Hogwarts seem like a better idea - to Tobias/Harry or to Mohira or to Dumbledore? But then how will Voldemort get his prophecy from the Ministry, if Tobias/Harry is time-zones away? Thanks so much for sharing your story! It's so much fun to read and re-read! Anyway, what I REALLY want to know is if the Court will show up sooner than Tobias/Harry expected, due to being tipped off by Miram Wira or someone else via the Hogwarts Gossip Line? And I really, really love Harry/Tobias' attitude when Mo is have crying jags. When I was a new mom, between the hormones and lack of sleep I could understand (though NEVER excuse) how someone could physically hurt a crying baby. I see Tobias/Harry as not having to deal with the hormones, and the lack of sleep is a new thing, so his love for Mo more readily overcomes the frustration of not being able to console her. And my new favorite lines from this story are: "“I know, baby,” he whispered. “It's awful, isn't it? Totally worth screaming your fool head off over.”" Please keep feeding the muse, and writing this story. Oh, how I await the next chapter! i check the story multiple times a day, and even refresh the browser 'just in case' you updated while I was re-reading this story! Author's Response: LOL thanks so much for the lovely loooooong review!! I had a lot of fun reading it. And sorry the update is taking so long - I had writer's block, and then I had to move back into my school-year apartment and sign up for classes and such. Thanks again!! Enjoy the next!! Rhiannan
