I loved the way Snape was anxious!
Though I do have a feeling you're going to shake it up soon. Can't wait till you do, though!
While interestingly headed in a direction all its own, this story is written so well, and is so in keeping with the characters, that I get lost in it. Snape's voice is strongly and clearly written in these lines. The emotional responses of both Harry and Snape feel spot-on. I've both choked up with sadness and laughed aloud while reading, and look forward to continued chapters.

SS will probably give him a gift however he didn't know about Harry's habit of waiting up until midnight.
Awe, poor Harry. But really, he can't expect Snape to know about his birthday if he never mentioned it. Perhaps someone else did though. Say, Dumbledore? Great chapter. Great emotions.
