Awww! I just loved this! You made me cry. First because poor, little Harry is so mistreated and unhappy. Then because Snape died and he never did get to talk to Harry. I was hoping he would.

Very beautifully written and well done. Great job. :D

Author's Response: Thanks. I know, I felt really mean denying Harry and Severus their 'happy ever after' but this felt rather more realistic and, of course, it also tied in with the canon, thereby avoiding loose ends. I'm glad you liked it.

Lovely story. It made me cry. Very orginial.

Author's Response: Thank you; I've seen plenty of stories where Harry makes friends with Snape in animagus form but never one where Harry doesn't discover that Snape is (insert animal's name) until it's too late. I thought that it might be interesting to examine this but, of course, that makes for a sad story. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I don't often write reviews, but this story was so so moving I just had to let you know. So sweet and tender... So heartbreaking... Damn you Albus!!! *shakes fist at his portrait* You could tell just how much it killed Sev to have to leave his little Harry and then knowing he had to pretend to hate him.. *sniffles* I can count the times a fic has made me cry on on hand, and I am so honored to add this one to those few others. This one is fic I won't soon be forgetting, and as I inhale fics like food that is saying something. I bow to you and your masterpiece. Thank you for sharing this with us.

    Author's Response:

Thank you: it always means a lot to writers when their reader's review ^^ Yes, Severus would have been devestated to leave Harry in his misery, let alone actively causing the child distress; I think their tragedy is a necessary foil for the fluffier aspects of the story and, of course, it leaves almost all the canon events unaltered. As for Albus, I think that the 'greater good', like his anti-slytherin bias, is a powerful force behind his decision-making; by remaining a DE, Severus would be in a position to save lives, protect students and, ultimately, bring down Voldemort and, if Severus and Harry's happiness had to be sacrificed, so be it. We see Dumbledore making similar decisions in the canon and I feel that it would be in character for him to clinically decide that dozens of lives were worth more than two people's happiness :(

I'm really glad that you enjoyed this fic and thank you for your kind compliments; I really enjoyed writing this little story (even though the sad parts made me choke up too) and I'm honoured that you rate it so highly ^^

Heh. Bitter sweet. Kudos, and nice to see a story from you again ;).

Author's Response: Thanks ^^ I know, I've been really lax recently but I am working on both 'Inverted' and 'Pegasus' (plus a number of new stories) but it's taking it's time lol!

Awe... very nice story, Morgana. I love the idea and explanation of why Snape had a foreign executor of his will. It makes perfect sense. Plus, that character brought an extra oomph to a very good story. The memory is awesome. I loved it.

    Author's Response:

Thanks ^^: given Severus' status as an outcast, I rather wanted him to have a friend and Poseihudor seemed an appropriate choice of confident; it's not difficult to see how Severus would have met the Swan Lord or why they'd have become friends- the only explanation needed was why he's choose a foreign executor lol!) Glad you liked the memory; I was a bit worried about being too hard on Dumbledore but, then again, we've seen him make similar decisions.

Omg! That was beautiful, but so sad toon.

Well done Morgana. Truly beautifully written.

Swan song indeed. RIP Severus Snape.

Author's Response: I'm really glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the kind compliments ^^ Yes, 'Swansong' was just begging to be used as a title for this piece; Severus had been, in effect, gagged but, once death allowed him to voice his feelings, his was the sweetest and most poignant 'song' of all (in my opinion ;)

I'm crying. I hate you for making me cry. I loved this story. I honestly thought about just stopping on chapter 1. But, no, I had to make myself cry.

    It was excellent.

    Zabby

Author's Response: Thanks: quite honestly, I thought about stopping on chapter 1 too but then I realised that would leave too many questions unanswered (like why Severus simply left Harry and why he pretended to hate him) so I wrote the second, more tragic part of the story. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
