Curious: did you mean my quoting UK Statute or Lupin's feelings on the whole thing?
The whole story has been covering uncomfortable material and I've been trying to warn people. Things that I don't expect upset people and vice versa, which is why my A/N have been getting very wordy.
Future chapters are going to cover more archaic Wizarding laws and customs, and I'm trying to work out how to handle them. Given the social changes that have taken place just in my lifetime, even laws from fifty years ago look downright barbaric to 21st Century eyes. Although it may not seem relevant to the plot, it is. If only to show why Pure Blood Wizards wouldn't necessarily get why Harry is is such a despairing state of mind.
