Reviews For A First Time for Everything
I liked the talk between Harry and Draco, it was nice and the snowball fight. The conversation between Severus and Dumbledore had me confused though. I did think it was rather unfair of him to spring Tobias on him like that. He should have asked Severus how he felt about the man, because it's rather awkward to just hire a man that you know has a past history of bad blood with one of your employees and just expect them to get along with each other. He's really not considering Severus' feeling at all. But then again, he never did when he was a student either. I had to laugh when he said he really didn't favor James, what bull! But the part I was confused about was his relationship to Eileen. I thought you told me he was going to be a bachelor and only related to Severus as an uncle, and Abe was going to be the grandfather. Why did you change it? I liked his talk with Lily, but she also needs to remember that forgiveness is something that comes when the person is ready to forgive, it can't be forced, the way Dumbledore is trying to do. Pressuring Severus into forgiving Tobias isn't going to work. He has to be ready and right now he doesn't trust the man, which is understandable.
Loved the whole chapter! I did notice that you've been calling the Gryffindor portrait the Pink Lady, but it should be the Fat Lady. Though I kinda like the first one better, it's also a good drink. There were a few typos, but I can't remember them now. Here were some things I particularly liked in this chapter. The beginning, when Harry is worried that Wood will kick him off the team. He thinks, Would Wood get rid of me? That line cracked me up, because it reminded me of the whole "how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?" One of my brother-in-law's favorite sayings. When Snape asks Harry to breakfast, that was sweet, and also when Draco says a romance between Ron and Hermione is revolting. I agree with him! Meeting Lucius--Sev's inner comments were hilarious, especially when he thought about cutting off Lucius' family jewels and making him eat them . . . with some fava beans and a nice chianti, right? LOL! I also liked when they visited Lily and she finally explained to Severus why she did what she did and he forgave her. Hope she gets well soon!
I hope that Snape and Harry have the chance to grow closer. I'm also intrigued what part Lily will play in it all. Good story LeeRoy.
I reviewed this a few days ago and don't know why it didn't post. Oh well, maybe it timed out? Had that happen before. Anyway, just wanted to say I loved the chapter especially the end with Lily and Harry and Sev! So sweet! I also liked that Severus took them to see the Longbottoms to show how bad the DE really are. Seeing concrete damage makes it more real to kids than if they're just told that such and such did evil things.
Well, sorry for my mistakes, I'm french! All I want to say is good job and good luck for the next chapter! :)
