I like Decklan! :) Good for him doing the right thing. I like that even your minor character OCs grow and develop as the story continues.
Dare I hope that SOMETHING was done about the Dursleys? Harry is now safe from them, but they need to be punished for what they've done to him. I'm not talking about revenge, I'm talking about justice.
I have to tell you that there have been parts of this story that have literally brought me to tears and where I just wanted to pull Harry into my arms and comfort him (although he probably wouldn't have accepted it with his emotions all over the place like they were). And that includes the two times I went back to the beginning to re-read it as I was catching up on new chapters. That has never happened to me before. Please take it as a testimony as to the power of your drawing me so deeply into Harry's psyche as I read. Absolutely amazing writing.
I am really looking forward to the next part, when, hopefully, we can see Harry emerge from the ashes of his life with the Dursleys into a better one, as a phoenix is reborn from the ashes of its old life.

Author's Response: Wow, thanks for your kind words! I enjoy hearing that I have been able to make people emotional through my writing. That is always my goal in writing. I'm glad you noticed that Decklan grew and changed. I despise flat characters. We have not seen the last of Decklan yet! I do not believe we will see or hear from the Dursleys again, but we will hear about them from Harry.
