Author's Response: I gave quite a bit of explanation about the different forms. Large, intimidating forms are often taken by people who are afraid of something, which Harry is, which is why he is a bear. He's a mixed bear because he's also a bit confused in life about who he is supposed to be. He doesn't know if he's one thing, or another, good, or bad, etc.
