I am finding this to be a rather fascinating story, and like how it is progressing thus far. I hope that there will be more.

I enjoyed this story for the most part, but Harry's personality reads like he's younger than he's supposed to be... Maybe 12—13

Author's Response: That is good feedback to have.  Thanks for taking the time to let me know.  I'll have to go back and take a look at it again.  I know he has been very immature about things at this point considdering the things he's done.  I have known teenage boys who have done immature things like that though, even when they are not always immature in other areas of their lives... heh, I've even known grown men to do some pretty immature things.

Good fic, but there is a major plot hole that needs to be covered (other than where all that water came from): Why not just call a house elf? They can teleport within the wards, and across distances. Malfoy, for instance, has some at home... And of the other Slytherins the same is likely. May want to cover that hole.
Also, communication by patronus. From what has been shown in the books there shouldn't be any hindrance to a patronus travelling through solid substances...

Author's Response: Hi there, thanks for your review and your concern about the plot.  I've already addressed these issues however both in reveiws and author's notes.  I'll say it again though.  If they were able to snap their fingers and 'poof' all problems were solved, then there would be no story beyond the very first chapter, which is why I haven't had the characters do these things.

A Kappa. Now we know. An excellent observation that water changes how we perceive our familiar surroundings. Hope Snape is okay, and that he and Harry can find higher ground soon. Surely there have to be stairways leading upward...

Draco the hero! And yay for Hagrid! Also, loved the fish-- totally cool! At least the owls survived, but with the floodwaters, they'll have a hard time hunting their own food. (You've probably figured out by now that I'm an animal lover!) What about Hogsmeade? Is it also flooded out?

Glad Snape is finally working things out in his own mind concerning Harry and his misperceptions about the boy's home life. But the thing in the water... Please don't let it be the body of a poor drowned cat. :-(

Loved the inhaler! Also, glad to see Snape rising to the occasion-- he's human, after all! And a teacher. And not quite a git!

"Your face will stick that way" -- !!! I can't believe Harry said that! He's really on the verge of losing it!

So this is really the Black Lake? And that poor cat again. Or another one. And Hagrid is... At least Snape has realized that something is not quite as it should be with Harry, although I'm not sure where Harry expects to get food if the kitchens are also underwater. Will the house elves figure into the rescue, given that they can "pop" when wizards can't Apparate inside Hogwarts' wards?
