I'm sorry to hear your mom was sick and I hope she continues to improve.
I loved this chapter! I love the way Harry remains scared but still hopeful and even hopeful against his own instincts. You are playing this so well. And I like Ian's response of being a little jealous even though he knows he shouldn't be. That is such a normal response. I can't wait for the next chapter

There we go Severus.. That's the way! Breaking out the pensieve! And what a perfect moment....something similar minus the magic...happened in my own life between my mother and I...differences to be sure...but end result was similar...this chapter really touched me on a personal level. Excellent Job

Really wonderful depiction of Harry's reaction. I thought it very realistic of a child with his history.
This part was especially poignant - "for the whole time the boy did not cling to him, did not grab his cloak or even press his face into Snape’s shoulder. He just cried, too exhausted to refuse the comfort Snape was offering, yet obviously too afraid of getting hurt even more to accept it."
