I am very happy. But it's almost four o'clock. When my brain is back leave a happy comment. You write beautiful, always.

Great Chapters as always! So glad you are back and that P&S accepts anonymous reviews again! You are extremely good at writing angst! Thank you!
    Thoughts -
Poor Snape seems to be stuck taking one step forward and two steps back. He seems to have forgotten the whole point of the weekly sessions was to give Harry “Special Support.” They should be about helping/supporting Harry. It is all fine and good that he has been using them to get to know his son but it would be nice if he also (as any good parent should be) was aware of Harry’s busy school work, sports, extracurricular schedule. He could have taken the approach that Harry “forgot” because he was very busy with school work/sports and could have used some extra time or help with it. Instead, he had Harry serve two hours of detention cutting up potion ingredients for missing his weekly “support” session. It is so like Snape to be uncompromising and punishment oriented when it comes to Harry. It wouldn’t bother me if Snape were consistent between his sons but we already know from chapter 17 that he let Ian get away with more discipline-wise after his mother died. I was just hoping as more and more of Harry’s (who also lost his mother) past filled in for Snape he would have more compassion, leniency/understanding. He has certainly doled out enough unfair punishments to Harry to credit him one or two. I also wish he had shown more concern at learning his son was in the hospital wing – maybe just a spike of fear/concern.
Harry’s slowness to trust is completely realistic given his history. What is sad for me is how low he sets his bar for family. For Harry having his Dad not hate/dislike him would be a win. As a reader, I want so much more for Harry - especially, given all the unfair criticism and treatment in their past.
Someone needs to make a true home for this kid. Where his is loved, valued, accepted, cared for etc. He needs more than a couch and food that he has to earn by doing chores. After all, even U.S. foster homes are required to give children their own bed.
Snape needs to be the adult and get past his own issues and lack of communication/emotional skills and come clean with Harry. He needs to acknowledge his mistakes and apologize or Harry will not really even understand fully why he has been treated the way he has.
Still - We all love the angst.
Thank you for writing good luck with everything!

Nice to see the brothers coming along. Maybe because I am a competitive person - or may because I just want to see Harry valued. I would like to see Ian recognize Harry’s skill/talent with flying (we know Gryffindor wins the cup that year.) It would be better if Ian could acknowledge Harry's abilities and not just credit his Firebolt. Also would love to see Ian eventually talk to his father about the summer (i.e. locking Harry in the basement and the fact that Harry had never bullied him, etc.) Thank you for writing and sharing!

Well, I was mulling over this chapter. The scene of Lily is one of my favorites, she in her role of mother and Harry in the teenager. Very beautiful and sweet scene. It is very easy to forget how young he is Harry. Or how easy it is to hurt him. I love James, a father that's invaluable. Be willing to guide Snape is no simple thing. I hope Ian is the link between his father and brother, as with many families. A great chapter.

2 new chapters - Yeah ! I almost didn't look this weekend. It's nice to have you back.

I thought both chapter were great. I hope Ian tells his father about Harry's comment about Snape getting rid of him the first chance he gets. Also, Snape is clearly trying to get along with Harry, I find it odd that he would not have thought about actually calling him Harry instead of Mr. Potter when they are not in class.
