It's good to see things slowly changing between Harry and Snape. Snape received a real jolt when Harry was nearly killed at the match. Now Harry is starting to hear that his father is viewing him differently. It hasn't sunk in that they both care yet but should eventually for both. I'm glad you are taking it slowly. It doesn't seem like an idea that they would both embrace immediately.
Hmmm, I wonder if Ian did it as an apology. I don't think Snape sent it. I am hoping that lupin confronts Snape once and for all with some hard truths and questions that finally get Snape to admit that he was wrong. Maybe Lupin will say to Snape that Harry is not James, that he doesn't bully and he doesn't prank. Then maybe Snape will say that Harry bullied Ian in the corridor that day during Harry's detention . Maybe Lupin will say did he honestly do that? Did Ian say he did that? Maybe get Snape to doubt Ian story that night since Ian framed Harry with the cards. Maybe Snape could have a heart to heart about the corridor incident with Ian and finally find out the truth.
Hmm, wonder if it should be Sirius or Snape that buys the firebolt this time. Anyways, great chapter. Can't wait for more.

I think you are doing it just right! Severus cannot change overnight and as you say he does not like him. Genes will not change this but may make him a little more protective. He will still be angry at Harry. Thank you a good chapter

Very well written! You did not overdo it. Knowing Harry, I am sure he will forgive Snape if he apologizes but I hope Harry does not trust him easily. I am hoping to see more interaction between Harry and another father or adult figure. I hope Snape regrets what hes done to Harry.
