Read your author's note. Like the angst of the abuse too - it is not overboard. Agree that shouldn't be why Snape starts to like/love Harry. Do hope Snape finds out about it though and realizing his misjudgements etc. Will he find out about the potion jar Harry was using on his back? hope so. anyway great story.

I thought the Dursleys had moved after they dumped off Harry. Ian may be a problem. Naturally he is jealous - he has had his father to himself and doesn't want to share his dad with a brother. Looking forward to the next update.

I love the pathos of this story! You have done a very good job of creating a sympathetic character in Harry. You have also done very well showing how hard it is for people (i.e. Snape) to change preconceived opinions/habits. Ian feels threatened by Harry but also has a bit of a mean streak. The fact that Harry would rather be with the aweful Dursley's (where he at least knows what to expect) vs. stay with his father and brother is telling of how miserable he is. I hope Severus experiences a satisfactory level of remorse/guilt when he finally opens his eyes and comes to his senses. Thank you so much for your story!

I wonder if Snape is at all surprised that Harry is doing his chores well and with no complaining? I had expected him to use legilmency on Harry when he was so angry with him for breaking the bottles. The character combination of Harry, Snape and Ian is an interesting one and I am looking forward to finding out where you will take us with it.

Snape is really starting to annoy me.... I hope that recent events forces him to come to his senses soon! It was very mean of Ian to lock Harry in the basement, but Snape, as the adult, is worse, he is a blind fool and a bad influence on Ian... Poor Harry... Snape is blinded by his own bitterness, I hope that he soon will be able to see Harry as he truly is in himself, and not as "Potter"
