I must say I'm really enjoying this story. However, I can't fault Severus for feeling the way he does. Rightly or wrongly Lily lied to him and snatched his kid and let his mortal enemy claim him. Really Lils? Really James? There is such a thing as asking too much of people and no matter what it looks like asking Snape to just open his arms to Harry is entirely too much to ask. James and Lily both TOOK from Severus and dead or not now have to standing to ask him for ANYTHING let alone this, a situation they created by lying. I can see a happy ending. But someone somewhere will have to GIVE Severus something before he can give to Harry. That's just the way of the world.
But as I said very nice story. I look forward to the next chapter.

You like story ideas? Ok... here's one. Feel free to disregard it entirely. ;)
I think the Snape-hates-Harry-finds-out-the-boy-is-abused-likes-him bit has been done and redone--don't get me wrong, I like a lot of stories that use this storyline, but I think you have the chance for something a bit more original. I think it would be interesting to see what happens if the event that turns Snape's opinion has nothing to do with Harry's maltreatment. Perhaps Harry befriends Ian/Harry saves Ian/Harry reassures Ian that Snape won't ever like Harry, and this event begins to change Snape's opinion of his oldest biological son. Later, once Snape is less determinedly biased, he can begin to piece together the truth about the Dursleys from his own past overlooked observations--missing potions, Harry's small size, etc.

Good heavens, I have to feel so sorry for Harry. Not one person is willing to actually see him standing there. And then there is poor Ian who is so insecure in his dad's care that he has chosen to hate his own brother. But can you blame him--the father he loves obviously can deny blood, so what else can he deny?
    1. I hope something nasty happens to the Dursleys-but only after Sev gets his head out of the hole in the ground he has chosen--divine retribution has nothing on an angry Snape.
    2. I hope that Sev learns how to mend two boys after this fiasco.(he will have his hands full!)

    Thanks for the update.
    V.

Uh-oh...a James dream wouldn't go over well...Will Snape understand the message or ignore it?

I love you story !! It's one of my favourite yet! Poor Harry none of his parental figures have ever cared for him. Except his parents of course. I think snape should end up doing something bad out of anger which will make him realise how horrible he is being to Harry !! Love it !! Please carry on

"Snape had sworn that no child of his would ever feel unloved or unwanted" this is very very fun.
Snape is idiot - total idiot. How can treat child?
In each chapter I begin to think that Snape does not deserve a child - none.
    He pricked up Ian anty-Harry.
Even if Harry would be a spoiled brat how Father can supplant child?
This story makes me rage in Snape. In each chapter, I hope that wiser and he's not is an even bigger asshole. I can not wait to finally explain everything.

I'm still waiting for the Dursleys to return and tell Snape something that make him see reason. Or that something happen to Ian (I really don't like him, I'm afraid)

If anything there's always Occlumency, and that could solve everything (almost, it's my guess there's more Takotsubo cardiomyophaty waiting for me)
