I quite enjoyed your story. It was simply fabulous. I don't mind the ambiguous ending. The relationship is more important than the biology. Also, I really loved your whole explanation for the purpose of an appendix. You seem to know a lot about foster care, social services, and a ruptured appendix. You were quite realistic with all of them.
Author's Response: Thank you very much! I did enjoy arranging the story in a setting that I am familiar with. Without being an expert in any of those fields that you mention, as I work in a hospital (and used to work in a paediatric ward) I do know what I'm talking about :-)

I've enjoyed your story a lot. I was glad that Severus told Harry his history with Lily and the Death Eaters so that Harry has some background and won't be surprised by any of it in the future. It sounds like the Weasley twins are already thinking ahead and making plans for borrowing Severus's boat. I hope there will be a sequel. It sounds like there are some interesting directions you could take.
