I really hope you're still here. It's been fun reading your series and I hope that you will continue one day. The relationship between Severus and Harry is about as real as it gets, for the situation it is.
A lovely book, thank you for sharing, looking forward to read the sequel 👏🏼🤩👌🏼🥰🤌🏼
The phrasing in this chapter just cracks me up each time, lol!

A year in between is quite sufficient for a re-read, don't you think? I always love how clever the dialog is in this story. I usually imagine Harry a few years younger, and though the sequels are awesome I usually don't read past this first part as they get too heavy for me. But thanks for handing on this gem!
Fellow fans, this story does continue on A03: just so you know. It gets really crazy after this, though, and I personally don't like to read further. It's not bad at all, and pretty clever: just different.
And this part:
And then the plates dropped. One by one, like harsh notes in a musical clip, until all fifteen plates lay broken in a hundred pieces on the wooden floor.
"Well," Harry said in a very small voice, "it’s just a few plates."
Two seconds of silence, and then the mirror fell. It fell straight to the floor and flopped forward. Harry heard the glass of the mirror shatter underneath the frame.
"And a mirror," Harry barely whispered.
Five seconds of quiet. And the whole wall fell backwards.
The entire wall fell back into the room behind it. Even through the haze of dust, Harry could see the wall lying in chunks on the floor of – oh, no, Snape’s study. The wall had fallen into Snape’s study, Snape’s sodding study!
"Oh, come on!" Harry yelled.
Favorite line:
Snape replied calmly. "I understand that you don’t want me to think you’re always in the wrong, but again we could have talked about that last night after you told me the truth. The time for talking and making excuses is over. If you had even come to me this morning or told me at breakfast that the house elf was here, I would have understood. But you were caught, and now you want to squirm out of it. I know you’re used to adults escaping their promises to you or letting you get away with disobedience because they don’t want to bother with reprimanding you. I know their avoidance makes you feel cheated and ill-used, and I refuse to let you feel that way about my guardianship. I intend to keep my promises to you, which includes punishing you for lying. No need to thank me, just come here and show how appreciative you are that I keep my word."
I'm binge reading this, AGAIN. This has got to be my favorite fanfiction story. The dialog is both witty and clever, and at times also logical and deep: I laugh and cry alternatively throughout. Aaaand I'm a sucker for d-fic so it really hits the spot. Thank you
