Reviews For Ripped
I'm the opposite of a fan of the books and/or the society "she" postulated and her characters inhabited, and definitely NOT her p-poorly drawn characterizations. She obviously never attempted to do any actual research into the psychology of the characters she was attempting to sketch! Or the children she was about to damage & traumatize with her stories. Anyhoo, thank you for allowing readers to see yet another example of how a REAL WRITER (and not a dilettante 'scribbler') crafts a story! God bless you!
A wonderful, original premise and characters with more than ONE dimension; yes, quite delicious. Thank you for sharing! MelJ
Imho, though my opinion is considered to be BLASPHEMY by most. Rowling did, indeed, prove able to drag together EVERY SINGLE PIECE of mythos, fairytale, folklore, fantasy, and CLICHE from every HIGHER CALIBER piece of fiction EVER WRITTEN into HER hodge-podge of stories, but there the compliment and comparison ends! If I go to a 5 Star restaurant and order the VERY BEST of everything and eat it all, including dessert and the rarest of vintages and then proceed to turn and VOMIT IT OUT onto a piece of canvas, would you be inclined to pay an extravagant price to own it just because it contains pieces of some very rare and expensive food though regurgitated by a FOOL? Sorry; this is why I READ HPff: Because quite a lot of it is written by writers who actually THINK and have a HEART! Just because her publisher is really good at SELLING Rowling's 'work' and popularizing it to mostly young, inexperienced readers doesn't make them all that GOOD! The REAL WRITERS (LIKE YOU!) are HERE, working in relative obscurity! That's one thing I LOVED about the Star Trek fandom: Gene Roddenberry ENCOURAGED writers with ideas for ST FAN FICTION to publish and make money on his creation! They're some of my most treasured books! I only wish that the greedy bastards who control the HP franchise would let Y'ALL make the money y'all deserve and show Rowling what REAL WRITING looks like! Cuz she hasn't a clue! Thank you for this great beginning! I know you probably won't answer and that I probably won't like what you say, anyway, but there it is: YOU ROCK and Rowling SUCKS!
