I love how Snape removed the dark magic at great personal sacrifice, and did it without hesitation. That seems to get at the heart of what makes Snape who he is.
I’ve never liked Dumbledore much and his evasive responses only strengthen my opinion of him.
I loved the image of a powerful Harry with a white aura, and Snape’s response was pitch perfect.
I’m back for another read. This is a wonderfully powerful start to your story.

Loved this, the characters were perfect and Covey was a brilliant addition, I almost melted when Harry asked to sleep between them :( thanks for sharing
The imagery is so visceral. I love the visualization you create of Snape pulling the dark magic from Harry, as it writhes and tries to root. I also love it when Harry’s poor vision is addressed.
Such a clever and realistic concept to have Harry’s elemental magic bound to his past traumas!
