I wondered where Albus had disappeared off to.
Author's Response: i figured most people would, so i decided to give some answers
Wow! That really snowballed from a simple suggestion of a room in which to meet to killing a horcrux. What a great chapter!
Author's Response: it was quite the series of events! thank you :D
Hmm. Hermione was kind of short with Eli after he brewed the potion. I wonder if she was chuffed that she isn't the only brain in the group. I LOVE that you included the bit about how different materials in the cauldron and stirrer might interact with the potion. When I did paper conservation, that was something I had to be careful about. I was using various chemicals to neutralize the acid in paper and had to be aware of the container I put things in. Plastic was a no-no because it interacted with things too easily.
Author's Response: yeah, hermione, in my opinion, like bases some of her self worth off her friends Needing her, so she wouldn't take kindly to someone else coming around and reducing her friends' need for her. and im actually in chemistry research, so we have to learn about what materials we can store various chemicals in too! among other things, lol, and im really glad that that meant something to someone else :D
I liked Snape's breakthrough. The idea of the memories and bottles was a nice one. Harry and James' bottles looking the same in his mind made sense. Having to go through each memory, even superfically gave him a clear view of his prejudice.
Author's Response: im really glad you liked it!! this was one of those things i had a clear vision of for /ages/ before i finally got to write it, so hearing that people liked it is so gratifying :D
That was a neat lesson. Harry should have gone into teaching. The lesson was fun, imaginative and kept his students focused. Looking forward to Eli's take on it.
Author's Response: who says this harry won't go into teaching ;)
I was wondering whether Severus was having trouble dealing with being a teenager again. Interesting that he realized it. Will beating Eli over the head with what a bad teacher he was work? Seems like overkill but only future chapters will tell.
Author's Response: the individual professors didn't view it as overkill since they were all acting in isolation, yknow :) and im glad you liked snape realizing what was going on with him
Nicely done. I like the way Harry's friends rallied around him. And Eli got a whole new view of Harry Potter.
Author's Response: harry does have some good friends! and Eli did have a more full view of harry pushed on him :D
Oh my. Poor Harry.
Author's Response: i know, it was hard to write :(
Hmm. I wonder when it will dawn on Snape that Harry has been really nice to him? Eli seems determined not to realize that they have become friends.
Author's Response: that really was a fun dynamic to write– harry, extending overtures of friendship left and right, snape, willfully ignoring them
I like that Minerva confronted Albus with the budget problems that came out of his grand plan. It was nice that you hit the practical side of the issue. At least Severus will be paid for his trouble. It sounds like Minerva's transformation was as uncomfortable for her as it was for Snape. Yuck.
Author's Response: yeah i felt bad putting both snape and minnie through that but not bad enough to not include it :D
