Very well done. My father was forced to write with his right hand a long time ago, and my daughter is left handed. Her school were good about it but I had to take in left handed scissors and repeatedly ask for her to be allowed to use them. Well done for bringing this issue up and I hope you had help and support.

Great story! It’s so sad that people have been persecuted based solely on which hand is dominant.

    Hey, I'm a lefty too!
My cousin who taught me how to write used to tap my hand with ruler because I kept using my left hand in writing. She told me that the right hand is the 'right hand' for writing.
In our country, being a left-handed is not negatively viewed. Instead, they would often relate it as having an artistic hand. Whenever people discover that I'm a lefty, they would be surprised and would often exclaim things like, "Hey, I never knew that you're a lefty! That's why you have a nice handwriting. I presume you're also good in arts because all left-handed I knew are artists."
I find it odd that people find lefty as being odd. I mean, who set the law that we should use our right hand for writing? We have two hands so why not use the one which you find more comfortable to use, right? It's our own body parts anyway. Your body, your choice.

Ps. I do not know how to change my username so I think I'm stuck with Squiby haha

I... wow. I'd read this person saying how their teacher once taped their left hand to the desk to force them to write with their right hand, and damnit that's just cruel? That school teacher? Poor Harry. The Dursleys were always freaks. So excited to see the conversation between Harry and Snape go. Awesome first chapter.

Author's Response: Hi there Lucinda ;) It truly is unbelievable, isn't it? Poor Harry indeed. There will be an update soon! You know how busy I've been. Here's a lefty fact: They Adjust to Seeing Underwater Quicker

Very good story, I know this is AU but no child is punished for being left handed!

Author's Response: Thank you! And I agree, no child should be punished for being left-handed, we've sure come a long way! Here's a Lefty fact: They're better in multitasking.
