Another wonderful chapter. I really like that Snape is starting to take initiative in starting a relationship with his son, whether Harry likes it or not. And poor Harry, feeling the need to take more Dreamless sleep. I hope Severus catches him before he really harms himself. And the part with Madam Pomfrey was hilarious! Thanks for a lovely update.
I love this story and was so happy to see an update. And, even better, to read that this story is all planned out with the denouement ahead. This chapter was funny and nicely angsty. Pomfrey launching into a sex ed talk was hilarious. I loved the dual perspectives of how the characters felt inside, in contrast to how they acted outwardly. I love your writing style and am most certainly looking forward to reading more of this story and your future ones!

Thank you a lovely chapter and well written with a lot of insight into the characters.
I hope we get insight into the thoughts of Severus as he must feel as conflicted as Harry.
I loved the way he dealt with Draco, excellent put down.

Another terrific chapter! I love how Snape is trying to interact with Harry in a lighter touch way than usual. The scene with Malfoy was great in starting to shift the typical dynamics too. I wonder for how long Harry will be able to avoid thinking about the changed circumstances, and whether some good plot bunnies will help him on his way. Was a very good chapter imo! I can kinda see that you weren't planning the whole escaped Sirius bit -- I'd think harry would've overheard snape and the weasleys discuss it at some point over the summer if snape didn't outright tell him considering he hates Sirius anyway-- but I think it fit in pretty well. I'm glad you have harry seeing the thestrals actually; I know, weird to say but hear me out lol. I've read so many stories where harry doesnt see the thestrals till after Cedric dies 4th year but harry remembered his mom dying in 3rd year clear enough to know it was her dying. So why wouldn't that count as witnessing death and thus able to see thestrals?! Anyway, rant over, awesome chapter!

I like how it went in canon I guess but it still doesn’t make much sense that Harry would remember watching his mother die but not seeing the thestrals? Maybe because the memory consists of sound more than sight? I dunno, but I felt like it would work anyways, I’m glad you liked it XD I wasn’t planning on having Sirius around at all because as much as I like his character I just didn’t want to deal with him, I couldn’t resist the dementor bit ahaha thank you for reading and reviewing!!

Thank you, a really good moving the story along chapter. You have set the scene for the next part of the story at Hogwarts really cleverly and I like the fact that Severus and Harry have met before the first potion’s lesson.
I am wondering what has happened to the adoption process? Has it been shelved or are the Weasleys and Malloys fighting in the background? Looking forward to the next update!

as for the adoption process, since Harry is technically now in the custody of Severus, and the blood test was conducted by magic so no one but Sev and Arthur have actually seen the results of it, it's not really public knowledge that Harry is even in need of a new guardian. The Malfoys are unaware of this for sure and the Weasleys have backed off the adoption process because they are hoping that Severus and Harry will work things out together. Even if they don't and Harry remains with the Weasleys, I think that Severus will retain custody to avoid a legal battle with the Malfoys.
