That was an emotionally packed chapter for Harry and Snape. You wrote the scene so well! I’m glad to hear that was the low point, and things will get better from here. Thanks for the great chapter.
That was a dreadful punishment. Did Potter's father, and that mutt actually do that?

The dialog is so fun and clever. This made me laugh:
Ron looked mortified by this list but he pressed on and said, “I…like Hermione.” He closed his eyes and his ears turned red.
“Well I like her too.” Harry said, shrugging, “she’s our friend, she—ooohhh, you LIKE her.” Harry smiled.
Well Sirius and Snape didn’t kill each other, that is progress…
I cannot wait for the next chapter. I would have chosen the spankings myself, as I do like my limbs, and not having scars burned into my skin, however, would certain actions require it? If Potter were to mess up badly enough, would he need a more severe punishment, such as branding or amputation? I would choose branding if I were forced to.
This was a nice, long chapter! I like the way you’ve captured both Harry and Snape’s feelings about all of this.
