Thank you for updating. Great chapter for Harry and his rather odd teacher. I had a vision of Harry smuggling his guitar and amplifier into Hogwarts! Author's Response: Thank you! That would take some doing lol Never fear: the guitar is along for the ride, once we?re on the way to Hogwarts!

Eddie Ate Dynamite, Good Bye Eddie. That's the only thing I remember from the quarter we had guitar lessons in elementary school music. I'm glad to see Harry getting into lessons. It's great to see him pursue this. It's so interesting how Harry, like most kids, is consumed by what's going on in his world. When he's in the shop he's consumed with helping Severus or painting his sign. When he's at guitar his whole world is about guitar. He's not worried about the Death Eaters, the depositions, Dumbledore or the magical world, the family finances, or Tobias. His world looks different than Severus' because he's 8. Only sometimes do other things sneak in- Yax and Wulf sometimes get in because of the trauma. Other topics sometimes sneak in at school, but that has more to do with boredom. I like the way Harry's world and POV are written in this story. That was not skunk parts. Author's Response: Lmao! Nope! Definitely not skunk parts xD
It stinks that Snape got fired from the Yow, but he needed to be at the garage anyway. Also he deserved it. Tobias is lucky Snape can make things happen otherwise nothing would get done. I loved Snape and Harry's time in the garage. Harry is going to be way more help than Tobias. I don't think Snape understands the point of word problems, lol. We (teachers) are trying to get students to identify relevant information and apply previously learned knowledge, which is more realistic than simply quizzing them with a list of facts. That said, some word problems are a bit silly. The one in Harry's homework is also poorly written. I wonder if one day a muggle born student will pop in to the garage with their dad only to find that the mechanic is their old potions Professor. Imagine the shock- especially when Snape understands their father's Cumbrian and responds in kind.

Aww, Snape is such a sweetheart! He's so gruff but he jumped in to help Lola without hesitation. That relationship is so sweet. I don't doubt that the house feels crowded. Tobias would not be an easy person to live with. Poor Snape. In less than a year he went from living alone to living with a kid, his estranged father, a poorly behaved dog, and a tarantula he can't dissect.
Thank you for the extra update, Severus has a good heart and is trying to keep all the balls in the air. I hope he doesn't drop any!
I like how Severus uses a bit more magic in this chapter as well as Harry's view of Severus. |
