Reviews For Shadows of the Past
Severus seems to be trying harder with Harry, however Harry is not conscious at the moment, an awakeharry might be a different story. What has happened to the slytherins who caused the injury? Thank you for updating.
Severus just can't get over his preconceived notion of Harry, he wants to do right by him but he cannot get over the hurdle of James Potter. I agree a visit to his home may help, but there is so much angst here with his confusion that it is making good reading. Will getting the boys expelled help Harry? I'm not sure he will be even more resented I think, out of Slytherin would be good for him but not the story! Thank you an excellent chapter
Great chapter! It’s a difficult question as to who should face expulsion. Malfoy at least tried to prevent the worst, even though he was the one who started it. I am completely immersed in your story. Snape’s development feels realistic, and I appreciate how you portray both his and Harry’s struggles.
I think Goyle definitely would be suspended, if not expelled. Malfoy tried at least to stop the spell, so maybe not so much; although if them beating Harry up first is made known, I don't see why suspension would be out of line. Snape taking his time to come around is believable. Too soon and it wouldn't be realistic, due to his character. I think you're doing it well! NOTE: there is quite a large repeated section! It starts with a section in bold with Snape reflecting on "Dumbledore's words" (yet they hadn't occurred yet, so it confuses me at first) and then goes through the dorm inspection. After this, comes the conversation with Dumbledore, followed again by Snape's reflections and the dorm inspection. You might want to edit that, lol. ;) There are also two repeated paragraphs; well, repeat but different. It has Harry tell Malfoy over his shoulder, " Better to be a loser than a coward," but version 1 has him walk away and enjoy his day; version 2 begins the attack scene. Great chapter!
A very emotional chapter and so well written thank you. The contrast of the scenes made the chapter move along so well. I had a range of emotions, furious at the Slytherins, furious at Severus, and then so sad at the scene of Griffonder tower and on the astonamy tower. Severus is fighting his own feelings, and in doing so is lashing out at Harry, only by belittling him can he come to terms on how he feels.
Thanks for the great chapter. To your question, I like the interaction between Harry and Severus. Often the change in their relationship is too fast and sudden in my opinion. But in this story the development of their relationship makes sense. Of course, I can't wait until both of them realize the truth, but it's worth the wait.
