ROFL Poor Harry, all covered in poison ivy. LOL That was great, and completely unexpected. Okay, I have to say that Snape really scared me in this chapter. He was psychotic. Brr...he's creepy. Very well done.

I've never been exactly sure what's going on in this story, which makes it thoroughly intriguing. I suspect that in the beginning it was a simple case of taking Harry to a safe place; now it has morphed into something different. Snape doesn't seem quite in control of himself, as if his reactions surprise even him. I don't know if Dumbledore actually knows Harry's location or not.

I wonder if that weed was actually poison ivy or Snape is having Harry on.

Okay, since Harry was carrying his "pay back" just a bit too far, the poison ivy part was great.

I am glad they had the talk but Severus needs to listen to more truth than he wants to hear. Harry was right about that.

This story is amazing, in a warped kind of way (and I mean that in the best sense). It's very different than most other Snape and Harry stories, which is probably what makes it so very interesting. Actually, I think this is the one story that I get really excited about when I see an update. Please don't keep us waiting too long!

Haha, I like Harry rebelious. Destroying the garden and all. Little-sun

HAHAHA!!! Oh nooo!! Haha! Poor Harry! I guess thatplan backfired! But does this mean that Snape actually cares about him? And is it really poison ivy? Is Harry allergic? Some poeple are not, you know, and as long as you wash it off within an hour or two with soapy water, the oil doesn;t stay on, and you don't get the rash.

Great update! It was good, even if it was short. :) Thanks! Made my day. Love this story.

Loved it. Poor Harry. I think it's interesting, how Snape's concept of family fights his better urges. It's almost as though his conception of 'what a father is and does' is at war with the rare paternal feelings he
does have. It's the contrast between 'I want you unhappy' and 'I'll fix your toys while you're not looking." Nice.

Ha! I bet Snape thought that by using veritaserum he'd figure Harry out and would know how to keep the boy in line for the rest of the summer. And make the boy like him.

Nope, he didn't see the dirt and the poison ivy coming.

There's something both funny and deeply sad about this story. Snape is nuts, he and Harry are driving each other nuts, and they're in this psychological duel in an isolated house with no one else around. They seriously like messing wtih each other's minds, which makes for interesting reading, though I feel bad for Harry. Snape's supposed to be the adult here, but he's so completely immature and pathetic and bonkers that I lose sight of that fact.

Author's Response: Hope you are still enjoying the read - sometimes this story surprises even me. Thanks for reading.

This story is weirdly fascinating. I think this is one of the most dysfunctional Snape-Harry relationships I've ever seen, and I'm waiting for new chapters because I want to see where you're headed with this.

Harry should seriously not be in that home. Snape has something missing in him. Some sanity is gone and a part of his humanity too. I'm not saying he's a monster, because here and there he does act in a way that (for him) is caring, and he doesn't seem to want to push Harry past certain limits. But he's a disturbed man trying to play at being a guardian (the veritaserum, ugh - talk about trying to make the child feel helpless, though I suspect in large part it's because Snape just doesn't know how to reach Harry and get the answers any other way).

One of the things I like is when Harry pushes back and reduces Snape from a sneering, cruel sort of figure to a hissing, ill-tempered child. Harry knows what buttons to push, but I feel really bad for the kid, having to be stuck there with this sad specimen of a "father-figure". I feel bad for Snape too in a way, but really think he should be committed.

So, I can't wait to see where you take this. I think that, no matter how resilient Harry is, he's going to walk away from this summer even more emotionally screwed up than he started out as. I really don't know what Snape can do this point to earn his genuine trust or respect. I mean, there's always Stockholm Syndrome, but that isn't the sort of thing that makes for a wholesome relationship. But then again, maybe your point isn't to have them achieve a normal relationship. With this Snape, I really don't think that's possible...

    Author's Response:

I am continually surprised when readers say they both hate and love this story. Most seem to read with a sort of fascinated horror (which is exactly what I was going for). Sorry to be such a tease, but I promise to keep writing.

    Thanks for your feedback.
