Reviews For A Time and Place to Grow
If Harry keeps behaving the way he is, I wonder how Snape is going to get to know him. I hope it was the curse that was causing that behavior. I'm looking forward to the upcoming chapters. Great reading.
I liked this chapter and the "I'm on fire!" thing. I also liked how Harry protested that he shouldn't be punished because he was only rude while being on fire lol. I completely agree with that mannn! hahaha The one thing that bothers me now (though it didn't seem to bother me the first time or two i've read this chapter......weird, I think i'm just becoming more emotional...lol) is the way Snape acts. Like omg it bothers me so much. He says that Harry has spent his Summers lounging about, not doing anything. When in reality all his holiday was spent cleaning, not being fed and being miserable. I feel so bad for Harry! And since i've read the story, I know things aren't going to change too quickly... : ( But, like I said, this didn't bother me too much the first time or two i've read this, especially with it turning out so well and everything, I think i'm overly emotional right now. You're an epic writer and whenever I mention my fav. fan fics to people I always include this one along with the sequel and two or three other fanfics. You make me remember you! god I hope that didn't sound creepy....lol
But later, when Severus is musing about his projected schedule for Harry, it should be "chomping" at the bit, rather than "chopping". "Chomping at the bit" is a phrase referring to an impatient horse, moving its mouth around the bit (the metal crosspiece attached to its bridle/reins) in its mouth. I really like your imaginative story telling!
HAHAHA. Dude... I am SO excited about this story! And I'm so happy to see that your last update was actually just a few days ago (always a good sign :D). I was first shocked when I read the first chapter... mortified, I believe was the word I used... but now I just keeping thinking that I myself would be completely motified to to in Harry's position (all political correctness and such aside). That poor kid. I have two kid brothers just older and just younger than Harry is here and I'm just trying to picture them in this situation too... very funny, yet very scary, lol. You have created such a perfect blend of the two. Again, I stick to my first noting of you being absolutely brilliant at writing. Very creative idea with Harry catching on fire and all these little subtle things like him playing with Snape's hand while falling calming down and crying over Sirius's untimely death. You really do have a knack for this. Good job :D

It's pretty good so far, though I'm really hoping that this turns our H/Hr, as there is a serious lack of that pairing on this site. Does no one here believe that a lasting relationship should be comprised of friendship, loyalty, solidarity, respect, and love? Or are they all bowing to the expected 'canonized norm' of R/Hr (don't even get me started on H/G), where the only thing going there is bickering, jealousy, escalating to verbal (B1-6) and physical (B6) abusive tendencies? Sure they're friends, but in a real life situation, they'd never make it, they're too different; they'd either be broken-up (whether dating or married) within, at most, a few years. Please don't give me that old line about 'opposites attract', it's actually a societal/psychological myth; everyone only sees the few differences that a true long-lasting couple possesses, rather than paying attention to just how alike they truly are. I can honestly say that I don't know where you're going with this, but I really hope that if you do ANY pairings at all, you would have the good sense to do them intelligently. Just an odd observation: Very few people actually notice just how alike Ron Weasley and Draco Malfoy really are. With the exceptions of their coloring, status, and general attitude about muggles, muggleborns, and half-bloods, almost everything else is exactly alike. Watch for this the next time you read the books; Ron (and pretty much the rest of his family) while thinking muggles and the like are 'interesting', never actually tries to get to know anything about them, disdaining much of what they can do - many times even better than the magical world - even though he and his family has ready access to it through H & Hr. You get a B (8) for your efforts so far, let's hope that you (and Harry) will do your best to improve and to impress me (and Snape) in the future (chapters).
