Reviews For For Duty and Honor
Other then that, I haven't found any problems so far - the characters are mostly who they should be. Author's Response: Depends on the definition you're using, hon. There are eight different definitions for the word, "volatile" in the dictionary, and only one is low boiling point. Volatile also means explosive, changeable, mercurial... As a noun (which I believe is how I used it) it can mean a gas or solvent that is explosive. Admin Edit: volatile - tending or threatening to break out into open violence; explosive: www.dictionary.com
Author's Response: Unfortunately, true.
anywas, I like the story, the sentence structure isn't british but then again, it doesn't really matter that much, does it. good job, update often! Author's Response: Yes, I do. :) And no, it wouldn't be so much. I've tried, but well, I hail from the deep south, USA. My beta readers are Brits, but I'm sure not.
Author's Response: Hrm? Thank you. And will do.
Author's Response: Your wish is my command...
Author's Response: *plays spooky music* There are several not-nice options awaiting Harry. Dumbledore ruled out a wizarding orphanage, then there's the committed by Fudge route. There's also going into care, and technically, the Malfoys could probably petition for custody. Sirius's claim was never revoked because he was never actually convicted, and aside from the Lestranges, who are currently fugitives, Narcissa is Sirius's closest blood realitive. Also, in my version of reality, the Dursleys don't actually have guardianship of Harry. They have physical custody, but they never bothered to file the paperwork. It was never contested because of a derth of blood relations on both sides of his family. Snape told Harry about the prophecy in an effort to protect him yet again. If Harry dies and he could have done something, then he dies as well. Completely Slytherin motivations here...
Author's Response: Thanks. :) And stay tuned next week for chapter four... Same bat time, same bat channel.
Wonderful as always! I liked how Severus is shifting slowly but surely towards thinking of Harry as more than just James' son, and remembering that he's Lily's as well. And it looks like you're not going to kill Sirius off--please? I look forward to seeing what happens with Umbridge, and the Ministry. Author's Response: It will take a while longer but the goal is to have him willing to take Harry in by the end of the year. And as for killing Sirius, well, you'll have to wait and see. |
