Reviews For For Duty and Honor
You have me totally hooked :)
Boy oh boy, Severus is in for a surprise, I imagine. *grin*
*grins* BRILLIANT. Really, it is. DIE UMBITCH DIE!!! I hate that woman with a passion that borders on obsessive....and she's not even real... ah well. Great chapter though. Loved the pranks. Good idea! *shakes fist* She'll get hers!! Author's Response: :) One of these days I really will have to kill her off. I mean, I'm infamous for killing certain hated figures in other fandoms... baked one of them into a giant pecan pie once.
Author's Response: Thank you! :) I'll be updating fairly soon, and I'm happy that you're enjoying this.
Author's Response: *laughs manically* I'm afraid that's a wait and see question. However, I can safely say that Harry's issues will receive time, and he will work through them. And thank you. I'm glad you're enjoying the story.
Author's Response: Thank you! And I will... I'm trying to let Schnoogle catch up a bit, I admit it.
Author's Response: *blush* Why thank you! Hopefully, you will continue to enjoy this little trip into the Potterverse.
Author's Response: I think that Harry's natural tendencies to suppress things combined with Snape's tendency to justify everything that doesn't fit in his worldview worked against this in canon. Well, that and according to the classic boy hero archetype, Harry must rise from an abusive homelife, stand alone, and overcome great evil. (That's also why Dumbledore and Sirius had to die in canon, but I digress) However, if we're going by a true reality check, the Dursleys' treatment of their nephew mostly likely would have been tagged whilst he was in primary school. He would have been taken into care at that point, Dudley also unless his Aunt Marge took him in, and Vernon and Petunia would have ended up in jail. (And yes, I am considering a story about that...)
A very nice chapter - I especially love your treatment of Umbridge. That horrid woman deserves it! It's quite heartbreaking to read your story and think about how a few small changes can make a huge difference. Severus telling Harry about the Prophecy and keeping him from dashing off to the Ministry ... it's done very well I think. Author's Response: Thank you! And isn't it? Just a little bit here and there can change how things go. I'm attempting to just make some small adjustments to canon and see where it leads. :) And Umbridge has yet to finish her come-uppance. I'm glad you like this, and I hope you stay with it. -Bratling
