Reviews For For Duty and Honor
Well, I am adding to this review as I steadily move forward in this chapter and by far my favourite line is :: “With all due respect, Headmaster,” Snape's voice said, “sod off.” Muahahahahahahaha!!! Oh, and did I tell you that I absolutely detest abandoned stories?
Author's Response: Um, today? :) Schnoogle and I have had... issues lately. They refused to publish chapter fourteen, so there was really little point in continuing to post there. Luckily, there are a plethora of other places for this story to fit in...
Author's Response: Done. Sorry it took so long. :)
Author's Response: Sorry it took so long. Things have been busy around here, and my muse is at the point where he's easy to distract with bright, shiny ideas.
Author's Response: Glad you liked it!
I am enjoying the story, however I just breezed through this chapter. I slowed down when I found wording that was different than what was in book 5. Mostly what you have Snape or Harry say. I am looking forward to see how Harry & Snape handling living in the same house. Author's Response: Unfortunately, it was necessary to have lots of canon here. Fortunately, it's pretty much the last canon incorporated into the story. I'm glad you're enjoying this!
That whole scene of revealing the prophecy in the Order of Phoenix was quite horrible but the events in your story seemed to make it even more so. It was very effective, all that yelling from Harry just seemed so much more serious. You're Severus is still very in character. And after 14 chapters, you should be very proud. I feel like he needs to do something though, with Harry, to show him that he can trust him. Harry is always a bit oblivious but he still seems to think Snape could hurt him in some way, when its obvious to us that he won't. This was a great chapter, I'm so glad your still going with it! Best of luck with the next one! Author's Response: Thanks! I've been trying hard to make sure that Severus stays Severus. :) The thing is, for a child in Harry's situation, trust comes hard. I'm not saying that it won't happen, but it will take time. Harry's spent fourteen years learning that adults can neither be trusted nor relied upon, and that isn't undone overnight. I've always seen Severus, above all, as an honorable man, so he will do right by Harry. He will do his best to prove to Harry that he's to be trusted and that he won't pull a Dursley or suddenly disappear like Sirius did. I mean, Harry loved Sirius, and he trusted him more than any grown-up, but due to circumstances, Sirius just couldn't be there for Harry. Frankly, Harry has never really had a present parent-figure who wasn't abusive. |
