Author's Response: I'll try.
Author's Response: Welcome! Yes, he's a mess, and will continue to be some for a while. Really, if we're being realistic, Harry will have some problems stemming from the way the Dursleys treated him for the rest of his life. These things just don't go away, and they have, for better or worse, shaped Harry into who he is. Don't get me wrong, he can and will heal, but he'll have the scars forever.
Author's Response: Thanks! I've seen lots of abused Harry stories. Thing is, most authors tend to go overboard to make his case like the ones they see on the news that end up with the death of the victim. Most simply aren't like that. I'm not saying it's right, and I'm not saying that it's not a bad situation, because both of those would be lying. I am, however, saying that probably at least half of physical abuse cases involve bruises, cuts, and a few broken bones. Grabbing too hard, throwing the child against the wall, shaking the kid... those are all 'normal' in abuse cases. (Probably Harry's had at least one spiral fracture, which is an absolute tell-tale sign of abuse.) Thank you! I've done my best to keep as closely as I can to the canon representations of the characters. Snape isn't suddenly going to turn nice and gushy--it's just not him without sarcasm and snarkiness. You will, I promise. IIRC, right now the aurors have Umbridge, though. And with her casting an Unforgiviable on Harry, she's automatically going to Azkaban for life. In a way, I was sorry to kill Sirius. I was in shock when JRK did it! But his existence was a bit superfluous with my plot, so I decided to follow canon in that he died. I think, however, that I gave him a better death than he had before. Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying this, and I hope to be updating soon.
Author's Response: I'm working on it, I promise. I've had lots of technical difficulties, including my hard drive dying. After I got a new one installed, it still took three days to recover the file. Hopefully, I'll be posting chapter thirteen, Opera Optima, fairly soon.
A great story I really like it:)Is this the end or will there be more? I hope there'll be more. Also at least two of the chapters were cut short for some reason:) Keep up the great work and update as soon as you possibly can:) May you be blessed with inspiration and have fun writing:) Author's Response: Yes, there will be more. For Duty and Honor will go through the summer at the very least. I'm considering doing a sixth year sequel after this one is done.
Author's Response: Yes, he is. If you ask him, he will say that he's simply preparing them for an unfair world. He will also tell you that he thought that Harry, as a spoilt brat, needed to learn that the world didn't revolve around him and his fame. He will also tell you that he doesn't believe in coddling people and he is trying to convince children that brewing is both serious buisness and sometimes dangerous. However, I do agree that Severus takes things a bit too far... especially with Harry and Neville.
Author's Response: Sorry. It is the canon ship, so I had to have at least a little nod. I'm not planning on Harry getting into a relationship; he has too much else to deal with ad adjust to.
Poison by relative1983 That was prilliant relative! You always come up with some great story idea and result. I'm looking forward to see anything you will write next! Author's Response: I could see it coming since the second book. JKR set Ginny up as one of the few people who could have any hope of understanding some of the hell that Moldyfarts puts Harry though.... Glad you like it. :) |
