This was a wonderful story. Thank you.
"Feeling a bit triumphant and quite languid, I flaunted my disregard for Albus’ office by just missing the fireplace with my discarded ashes before lounging in a chintz armchair. I wanted to smoke the rest of my fag before leaving. This also served to show the headmaster I knew I was in charge of this situation."
Oh, I can just picture this. What a wonderful image!
Oh my. I now apprehensive.
You are good. That last scene with Gray stomping about the pub made me cry. I can't wait to see where this story goes.
I like the old tailor. Nice seeing Harry meet some normal decent people.
A good start. I like Ashton-Under-Lyne as a possibility. I had been thinking somewhere in Salford.

This was just the story I was looking for! It was perfect. You managed to keep Snape wonderfully in character and didn't make him instantly mushy and corny like so many other authors seem to do, nor did you make the abuse done to Harry way over the top. I'm so glad I found this story, thank you so much for writing it ^_^ and good luck on the novel you are planning!
This is a very sweet and well-written story. I like the shifting perspectives - they really added a lot to the tale.
Wonderfully done. I love it.
