Hmm, ") good chapter. I like that you left the letters as you worked through them. Gives insight into your process.

    Author's Response:

Thanks!  I like it when reality is useful to the story.  :D

The letters were great as were the interactions between Harry, Severus and Remus. Remus' logic was excellent and was that a hint of smugness I heard in his voice when he was talking. I also loved the Latin versions of the Circle of Silence spell and the Wisdom of the End spell. Of course, I'm a Classics major and Latin geek so that sort of thing tickles me. I've long since given up trying to mentally correct the spell Latin into the correct case and rationalized an explanation for why wizards tend to use the first person singular case for verbs that are really imperatives and to use what are really nouns as verbs. If you're interested in the details of my geeky rationalization feel free to ask me and I'll send it via a PM.

An excellent chapter and much fun to read. Onwards!

    Author's Response:

*iz interested!*  Totally made-up Latin-esque stuff is what I used for this fic (and, weirdly, have continued to use the same made-up original spells in other, totally non-related fic.)  But recently, in the sequel, I had to have Ron say something in Anglo-Saxon/Old English, which apparently does the whole genitive / nominative / accusative that German and Latin both also do?  I used genitive case because it was possessive, but have no idea if I'm correct; everything I read on the subject seemed kind of esoteric.

In short, can I ask you Latin question in future?
