I have truly adored reading this. You are a genius and this is a masterpiece. Thank you.

Author's Response: Wow, thank you so much!  Sorry for the hideously delayed reply.  :)

Seriously, your rec's are the icing on a wonderful chocolate cake! I save good fic's and find more by checking the authors' fav pages, and digging through their reviews...that is how I discovered your page.

Liked the story tremendously but somehow the ending didn't quite pull off the visceral raw emotion although it shared the cleverness entire rest of the story had. It tied everything up neatly, sorry it isn't your fault I didn't absolutely love it the way I liked the rest of the story.

Maybe I need a little more tragedy in my story endings - Glenn Cook is one of my most favorite authors. One of his Garrett stories (Sweet Silver Blues) about his first love,Kayean Kronk turned vampire following her husband- a bit like Narcissa Malfoy. Garrett rescued her and brought her out back to his hometown. She moves into a big house on the Hill and Garrett wraps himself around a barrel of beer. Every year on the anniversary of when he brought her out she sends him an gift, never small....but the line I love is "I know where she lives. I never go up that way". Found it on google books oddly double checking my memory for that quote.

But...all that aside your's is seriously one of the best, if not the best I've read. Your rec's are a real treasure - and I'll be sated a long time by them. After reading the rest of your stories.") Plus, for what it is worth, I reviewed every chapter - never done that before but I felt like your story deserved that. Thank you!

    Author's Response:

The sequel is up on ff-dot-net.  I didn't figure it really ought to go here, since it does not focus so exclusively on the Harry/Severus relationship.  However, you might enjoy it more, as it is a hair darker than SoS.

I'm awed and impressed that you've reviewed every chapter.  I read these in reverse order - most recent reviews, first - so you're probably going to see a number of messages from me as I go back through.

Hope you'll join me in future fics!

UGH I CANT EVEN TELL YOU HOW GOOD THIS IS
I adore Draco, you made me ship Drarry even though this isn't even a shippy fic, Ron is awesome and I'm so glad to find someone who doesn't Ron-bash, everyone's in-character, and the premise of the Unsorted House definitely reminded me of a very strange fanfiction plot that's been stewing in my brain for several weeks. I love it when that happens, because I'm too lazy to actually write it but I still get the satisfaction. Ten points to whatever-house-you-are/Unsorted House

    Author's Response:

    Thank you so much!

The sequel is posted to ff-dot-net right now, because I wasn't sure how kosher it was to place a story here in which Snape and Harry aren't the main characters.

Thanks for reading and reviewing, and I hope you'll join me as I post future fic!

So first I must rant. You have created a story so enthralling that it is now 6.30 a.m. I have been awake all night reading your work of art. As such my parents will undoubtedly and irrevocably kill me and I will be uncoordinated and unfocused for the rest of the day. To an extent, at least, because I do this far too often to not know how to deal with it. More’s the folly I’m afraid but c’est la vie, enjoy youth and school holidays while they last, right? I am as such, left with nothing else to do but give your story my highest regards in as few words as i can possibly manage while stating adequately my opinion.
So firstly I would like to say that you creeped me out for the first 15 or 16 chapters of this. They were drenched in a prevailing darkness, sense of mystery and an overwhelmingly strange feel of things not right and indeed seriously wrong. The images painted by your words were so vivid that one could hardly help but feeling echoes of the emotions woven within the threads of the story in themselves.
Secondly, Draco. Good heavens man (in reference to human kind on a whole not yourself as a person as I am unaware of your gender). I was on tenterhooks and, I am mildly ashamed to admit it, for only the briefest moment for a very simple reason. There was no anxious wondering over how Draco could be dark and betray them all because I didn't realise fully until you told me and was indeed completely believing in Draco's innocence until you did see fit to tell us (masterfully done by the way) and was then promptly in denial until you had finished redeeming him. However I certainly never saw that coming. Actually I wonder did you even see that coming when you started out with Harry casting Imperio over Malfoy?
Thirdly, while I was initially, and not without cause I might add, well and truly creeped out for reasons unknown at the beginning of the story by both the characters and the happenings within the story itself, the characters and the plot both were written beautifully and I, unashamedly, admit that I am well and truly enamoured with your story. I will doubtless be going back through it a few times to reread favourite parts.
Here I end with another apology for the length of this review. Something I am fairly certain is meant to be a short thing and yet I could have gone so much further pulling apart the plot and characters till it resembled a university thesis paper more than a simple review. I blame the length of my rambling on my lack of sleep and as such, inadvertently, on you. Sorry. 
So yes, in summary awesome work, awesome story, loved it to bits and blame you for any trouble I might get in should my mum find out.
Till next time, The Girl in the Corner.

    Author's Response:

I hope your mum did not find out.

In all seriousness, I am beyond flattered.  And to be honest about Draco, I knew he could go either way from the beginning.  However, I wasn't sure WHICH way he was going to go until a few scant chapters before the reveal.  I like to be unsure myself, you see, to lead readers in both directions simultaneously.  And to create characters who are struggling, themselves.  If the character is struggling, writing from paradoxical two-points-of-view helps convey this.  :)

I should let you know that there is a sequel on ff-dot-net called 'Geas of Gryffindor' which I think you will enjoy.

    Happy reading!

I absolutely love your story - your story is better than HBP and DH combined - my only problem was that we did not get to see Sirius at all.

It's been almost 4 years are you still planning on writing a sequal because I would love to read it.

    Author's Response:

    There IS a sequel.  :)

It's called Geas of Gryffindor, and it's on fanfiction-dot-net.  It's not primarily a Snape-and-Harry story, so I didn't feel it was appropriate to post it here.  My penname is the same; just search for Kirinin.  :)

I'm so glad you enjoyed it!  Thanks for the lovely review.

You have written one of the best fics I've ever read in regards to plot, characterization, everything! I'm going to head over to your fanfiction.net page and start reading the sequel.

I wish that I had found your story sooner than I did but this way I never had to wait for the next chapter to be posted.

    Thank you so much!

    Author's Response:

Thank YOU for reviewing so often.  It really is a gift to me.  I post fanfiction in order to get feedback and get a feel for what worked for the reader and what didn't; you even gave me some good fic ideas!

Can't wait to see what you think of GoG.  :)

    O.O
This isn't nearly as popular as I would think it is.
GOOD GOD, 52 chapters of pure epic WIN, and only ninety-six reviews.
Continue this, if you value my sanity.
    PLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASE.
    PLEASE.

    Author's Response:

If it makes you feel any better, the story's received over half a million hits on ff-dot-net and has over 1300 reviews there.  ;)

Funny you reviewed; I just was talking to Jade about posting the sequel here, since it's not really Harry - Severus centric.  It deals more with Draco and Severus and Ron.  The first few chapters are up on fanfiction dot net (it's called Geas of Gryffindor).

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing; I'm glad you enjoyed!

    -grins madly- bloody brilliant.
Fave: Lupin & chocolate ("It isn't?")
And of course the whole thing.
Bravo on having written a story so entertaining & intriguing one simply _has_ to sit down & read until it's done.
    -claps and tips hat-
    Well done.

Thanks!  I'm glad you enjoyed it.  :)

There were a lot of really good things in this story, starting with what happened with the Sorting Hat. Mind, there were also some mistakes and inconsistencies which should have been fixed (like the Diagon Alley/Hogsmeade thing), and a number of events were glossed over and only mentioned after the fact, but the rest still makes up for it.

Draco here is very intriguing; clever in a vicious way, making one wonder at his motives, and what he really wants with Harry. I also like the way Hermione and Ron are portrayed; that Ron can actually be a mix of git and insightful, and Hermione isn't just a walking book. Snape is snarky, clever, manipulative (but of course, a good guy!).

I really liked the whole mystery of the Secret; how it was built up, how it both used and subverted canon; though I was a bit disappointed that we were only told the secret in vague terms rather than the full details, and that we weren't told the details of how Snape and Harry discovered the Secret.

I liked the way the Prophecy seemed to have been wrong, and then turned out to have been right in a different way than people had assumed. I adored the moment when Draco realized that he still had a choice; that he could still choose not to betray Harry even though that option was also choosing his own death.

    Sequel please, yes!

    Author's Response:

I recognized the errors later, but if you are an author you know that everyone reaches that point where they can NO LONGER EDIT, lol.  I'm glad that you enjoyed the characterization and the way the story messes with canon; those are definitely the aspects I focused on the most.  :)
