This is a good begining. :)I liked the setupm showing each character's trouble... I think that Draco's was my favourite one. With Hermione,I think it needs a little more.Her fatehr getting mad at her because his wife died getting her a present, is enough to make him mad, but to make him this abusive, i think you need to have had Hermione refusing to use her magic to help her mother. She not allowed to use magic outside of school, and healing her mother in the hospital wing would definitely be showing magic to muggles, also an expellable act. I think that you need to go back and edit this chapter. The writing is not as good as your writing now, which is expected. In Hermione's section, you start three consecutive paragraphs with "As". Everything seems to be happening at the same time as everything else. Yet, the style seems a little stepped back from the present, which is definitely different than your style now. You need to bring this story into the present now that you can.  :) There's also a couple of spelling mistakes.

but this is a good start. I am very interested in seeing how each one of these characters gets out of the messes they are in. Especially Draco and Snape. Once you get to the Snape and Harry part, more people will probably review. They tend not to unless the story has got somewhere.
