    One more word perhaps?”

    “No.”

This time it was Snape’s turn to be annoyed. “I need to stop falling into that trap,”

This was good! You have a great subtle sense of humour - keep it up. Also great cliffhanger, looking forward to update. (:

Author's Response: Heh, that's Harry's slightly Slytherin side coming out.  After all, "No" is one word.  Severus ought to be more specific!

Uh oh. Will Harry be getting a lecture? I love how you write both Harry and Snape and how they interact with one another. I'm greatly looking forward to what will come next. This is such a great story.

Author's Response: A bit of a lecture and then some.  Thank you for the review!

    Wah! A cliffhanger!

I am enjoying your story very much. I think it is frequently forgotten that Harry is an abused child--certainly a neglected one. I wondered why it wasn't explored more in the books themselves. And while this creates some slightly sappy situations, (forgive me) I wouldn't be reading if I didn't like what you are doing.

Looking forward to your next installment.

    Author's Response:

Yeah, it bothers me a lot, actually, that we never see any real impact of Harry being neglected in the books.  I mean, you see it a bit in how quickly he accepted Sirius, how desperate he was to go live with him, but that was it, really.

But then, that's why I write fic, really.  To "fix" the things I had trouble with ;)

    Thanks for the review!

No! Severus don't ruin the relationship you've formed with Harry! (Although he shouldn't have cast that incendio...) But, I trust you'll keep Severus in line!

Great chapter! I loved everything about this one, really! It was great to see how Harry was feeling, why he didn't want to talk. And then to see Severus recognise that it's not Harry's fault, but practically everyone elses and to understand that is just great!

I also loved that Slytherin cunning of Severus' coming out in potions class. Along with that, the irony of the potion was heartwarming, because Severus knew that Harry knew the answers to the questions he was asking.

I just hope that Harry is able to heal, and that Severus will just get on with it and adopt Harry already! (I guess I can wait for a more opportune time for the announcement to be made.) But, keep writing! I want to know what happens next and what Severus has in mind for Harry!! Write, write, write!!

Author's Response: I do my best to keep him in line, but he sometimes gets away from me!  More to come soon!

Great chapter! I could feel Harry's tension and frustration at being pushed to talk when he doesn't feel ready to, but on the other hand, at the rate he's going, when will he ever feel ready to?

I'm glad he was able to express himself when he wrote to Severus saying that it had never done him any good to talk, so why should he bother. And I was glad to see that Severus understood how deeply Harry has been betrayed by the adults who are supposed to be taking care of him.

I'm curious to see the aftermath of the Incendio spell, so I hope the next chapter will come quickly!

    Author's Response:

Well, there certainly will be an aftermath regarding the spell -- I'm writing it now.  I'm not sure this meets your definition of "quickly" though, lol.

Harry *is* incredibly frustrated right now.  Combined that with the mix of emotions he's feeling about other things and even Snape starts to feel badly for him ;)

ahh cliffhanger D= must you be so cruel?! xD

great chapter! though why did harry burn the parchment? /=
anyway the chapter was very well written, and please update soon I love your story!! ^^

    Author's Response:

Harry burnt the parchment mostly because he was frustrated that his friends still suspected Snape.  It wasn't a particularly logical action, but he wasn't feeling particularly logical at the time ;)

Sorry (sort of, lol) for the cliffhanger.  An update will be arriving soon(ish).

Ah, I hope this incident will cause Harry to finally tell Severus what he knows about the Philosopher's Stone. This chapter was a lovely look into Harry's thoughts. Boys have it tough admitting they need anyone, don't they?

Author's Response: I thought we definitely needed a good look at what was going on inside Harry's head, given that he's confused.  He's got a difficult background, and that complicates his relationship with Snape a lot.  He wants things that he's not willing to let himself have, if that makes any sense.  It's the classic "man (er - boy) against himself" conflict :)
